I bought two of these alarms to be used inside our U-Haul during a cross country trip. I had read about theft of fully loaded U-Hauls and wanted to have some sort of alarm as a deterrence. Based on the reviews that I read I can say that it functions as advertised. You can arm it easily, it will let off a siren that although not very very loud, certainly loud enough for surrounding people to hear.     • A great value for peace of mind

I got this motion detector alarm as a deterrent against home burglars. For just under $30, it certainly delivers peace of mind. It's quite small, but puts out an ear-piercing siren which is just what I like for a burglar to hear as he's climbing in through my window. It can also be used as an electronic doorbell by simply pressing a button on the unit or remote. This gives it more utility and an even better value. One big thing about this alarm that I like is that it runs straight off electricity. This means I don't have to keep worrying about the battery level as to whether it will work or not, or if the batteries are a little low and wouldn't reliably sound the siren or be loud enough, or worse yet, start leaking. Yes, it does take 3AAA batteries (included), but they play more of a backup role in case of a power failure. Otherwise, it is powered by using a USB cord that can be plugged into a wall outlet or other USB slot. When I placed the sensor and then walked around to see where it would detect me, I noticed that there are a few small areas where it didn't see me, but that was remedied by simply turning the unit slightly to make sure it detected in a particular "zone". It also comes with a simple remote which includes a CR2032 battery. I tested it and was able to arm or disarm the unit from outside my house. I even went out to the curb in front of my house which is about 50 feet from my front door and was able to arm/disarm the unit which was in my living room. The remote feels a little flimsy in its construction, but hasn't stopped functioning. The good news is that if the remote became lost or nonfunctional, the unit can still be operated with the 3 buttons located on its top, although this would necessitate being able to press the on/off button from behind the unit and then exiting the area. The buttons on top of the unit seem solid and I don't anticipate them failing anytime soon. ... show more

Mounted on stair landing for added night security alarm, aiming to first floor. Good sensitivity/activation but I modified the front with electrical tape to narrow the field, allowing for large dog to go up and down and still trip for (taller) humans. The best overall solution so far for a tricky wituation with the dog. The lo-volume chime and warble sounds are adequate, and make for a "user friendly" situation. The Hi-Volume warble, chime and the "Panic" button on the remote (like you have on your car key fob) is NASTY loud inside the home and should shock any intruder. The product arrived in a strange box that wasn’t for the product. It was also missing the mounting screws, the batteries were loose in the box, there were no instructions, and the product had obviously been used by someone else.

LOVE THIS!! I got three motion detectors to protect my empty rental while I was waiting to find new tenants and the new tenants moved in. I am on good terms with the neighbors around my rental property, so they knew if they heard something to call or text me. There was a time or two I did set these off, initially to make sure they worked and then once accidentally when I went over to check on something in the garage. My motion alarm in the garage, it blended in nicely with other items on the garage's work bench so IF it had been someone breaking in to steal my new kitchen appliances or whatever nefarious goals a burglar might have had, it would surely scare them off. I was sure scared when I did it by accident! The kitchen and front door alarms were not so well hidden since my rental property was empty waiting on tenants to occupy. However, I kept the front door alarm turn off remote at my own home with me, and then had the alarm remote for the next in series sort of near the next to be turned off so I could make my way through the home without setting it off. However, the time I set alarm off accidentally was my own fault for not remembering to get that last on/off button and turning off the garage-based alarm before I went out there. There are so many uses for these! I highly recommend these.
