The instructions to assemble this bassinet were a bit confusing – especially the graphics. Nonetheless, I thought I had it assembled correctly until I inserted the actual baby board/bed into the bassinet – it completely fell to the bottom of the unit. At first, I thought that I had missed a step – or perhaps a piece was missing. But after reviewing the photos on Amazon and the included instructions (and viewing several other versions of Cowiewie bassinets on Amazon) I have concluded that this model is poorly designed. THERE IS NO CENTER BAR TO SUPPORT THE ACTUAL BED! I thought that perhaps the manufacturer is assuming that the bed will sit on the outer rims of the support bar, but, again, there is no center support to hold it up. The baby, along with the bed, will simply fall to the bottom. I’m thinking that perhaps they removed the middle support bar (pictured in Cowiewie's other bassinets) to enable the baby/toddler to use it as a playpen as well as a sleeping bed (and advertise it as a "3-in-1"). But if you had the middle bar there wouldn’t be room for the baby to play in it. Of course, I’m just guessing why there is no center support – but what I do know is that the baby bed will fall to the bottom of the pen. Other bassinets from Cowiewie that are on Amazon have the middle support bar and hold the bed securely. I don’t know why Cowiewie took this support piece out, but it is a big mistake. The bassinet/bed part of the unit is totally unusable. I looked online to try to connect to Cowiewie Support but could not find a direct Contact. I also checked to see if maybe there is a recall of this product – but I could find nothing. Most of the original photos of the product on the Amazon page have been removed but the two remaining photos show two different looking bassinets – one with the netting on the bottom (similar to the product I received) and one w/out the netting showing a baby bed supported on the bottom. As it stands, we will use this “bassinet” as a playpen when the baby gets older – unless either I figure out a way to support the bed or Cowiewie informs me of a solution. If there is a solution, I will certainly revise this Review. Edit (Feb. 2, 2024) After seeing other Reviews about the Cowiewie bassinet that didn’t mention any complaints about the lack of support for the baby bed (especially one Review that stated that you must pull the bottom up and then zip it all the way around). So, with the help of a relative we reviewed the Instructions and, sure enough, Step 3 indicates that the baggy bottom part does form the middle support for the bed by zipping it to the middle support unit (see photos). We followed those instructions and successfully placed the baby bed on top of it. Overall, this bassinet is a good, solid product. If you can carefully follow each step, you will have a very nice baby bed and, as the child grows, a nice playpen. ... show more

Having had our first child 3 months ago we're new to the parent scene. We ordered the Cowiewie 3 in 1 Baby Bassinet with the intent of not having to buy a crib and using it as our baby girl grows. The bassinet is well made and our girl sleeps comfortably when in it. Having a drop down side was a really convenient feature as it allowed us to put the bassinet alongside the bed negating the need to get out of bed if she fussed or required feeding. During the day we put the side up and used the bassinet as a crib. The mattress is comfortable for her and fits tightly against the sides. Theres no gap incase she eventually rolls over to the side and her face ends up there. The bassinet bottom (mattress support) is zippered around which holds it in place. If you undue the zipper the mattress bottom drops down and the lowered bottom in surrounded by a mesh netting. This netted in area is the playpen. It's not huge but for a small child just learning to sit up or crawl it's enough room to play with toys. Theres an arched, zipper secured, door you can open to allow a child to crawl in or out. The bassinet sits on 4 castor wheels that can be locked in place. So it's easy to move around the house. Our experience with the Cowiewie 3 in 1 Baby Bassinet has been a positive one and I'd recommend it to any parent with a newborn. ... show more
