  • Great value and all you need for the few times that you will need them.
I ordered the COTOUXKER Bike Chain Tool, Bicycle Chain Tool with Master Link Plier Chain Breaker and Chain Checker for Bike Chain Link Removal Repair. This is a nice set and, give the low price, a great value set. There is nothing about the tools that makes them inadequate to do the job. These are tools you would keep at home and not a set you would carry as your emergency tools on your bike for a breakdown (get a micro set for that). In any case, you will only need to break you change probably once every year or even every few years to change it out for wear. This depends on how much you ride, what gears you commonly use versus the chain line, and whether or not you do a lot of bad cross-chaining. So, considering how rarely these tools will get used, there is no need to get the absolute best looking or most expensive. These are all you need for chain repair or replacement tasks. The chain checker gauge is identical to one that I bought from Performance Bike a decade ago. It will allow you quickly and easily measure how worn you chain is (if you don't how, search YouTube for an instruction video). The chain breaker is equivalent to one I got is a nice bike tool set. In addition, this one has the chain holder built onto the tool for easy access (the silver hook running along the handle to the breaker tool pin). Go to YouTube if you don't know how to use it (you use it to bridge the span where you took out or are putting a master link or link pin and thereby hold the chain together during the process). Note, my chain break tool came with an extra tool push pin in case the installed on breaks. I'm talking about the pin in the tool that pushes the link pin out of the link. I wasn't expecting that since it wasn't shown in the photos. I cam stored in the hexagonal hole in the chrome portion of the chain breaker tool (stick out a little on one side). It is nice to have that extra part. I did not see that extra part in the couple of photos that some other reviewers have posted which even shows the their tool still in the unopened plastic bag (so, I feel special). The master link pliers tool is above average in functionality. The notches on it allow for both opening AND closing a link. Some models, including an older Park Tool MLP-1 version, only allow for closing a link. I have the MLP-1.2 which has both opening and closing grooves. This COTOUXKER pliers also has both an opening spring assist and the loop for holding the tool closed, which the Park Tool pliers does not have. Note, if you have the opening spring, you really need the loop to keep it closed for storage space. The plastic handles on these tools are good enough and are not uncomfortable. They are not top of the line handles, like the Park Tools, but you won't be holding any of these tools very long or putting a lot of hand pressure on the tool handles. So, the plastic are way more than adequate for these tools. This entire tool set is 2/3rds the price of just one Park Tool pliers. So, you are getting a lot for the money. The set came with three master links: one for a 10-speed chain, one for a 9-speed chain, and one for a 6to8-speed chain. My chains are 10, 11, 12 speeds. Good quality master links for 10 or higher speed chains are usually $5-10/each (in multi-packs). Overall, 5 stars because this is more than adequate for most anyone's needs and for the great value. ... show more

  • Ok chain tool kit for occasional use
Ok chain tool kit for occasional bike chain removal and installation. Took off one star due to the Chain tool's handle is shorter than most and there is no resealable plastic bag to hold the kit components.

  • Small tools but very sturdy
They are kind of small, but they are heavily constructed. They give you three link pins. This is a good kit to take with you on your bike ride if you have any chain troubles. It has a chain measure to see if your chain is stretched. A tool to pull your chain together once you get the chain fixed and a chain break. I really prefer bigger chain breaks but if you're in an emergency situation this thing will work. It's a nice set not great but nice ... show more

  • Better Than Your Average Chain Break
It's never easy to find a high quality chain break, one that will last and withstand the pressure needed to break a chain. This tool is very high quality, from the materials used, to the performance of, and most importantly, the ease (or lack thereof) of removing and replacing the pins and links on the chain itself. A couple nice touches when receiving this tool include 3 master links - one for 6-8, 9, and 10 speed chains. The breaker itself is highly ergonomic and comes with a spare pin in case the first one gets damaged - also a nice touch. Chain pliers and a link spacing tool are also included, so this turned out to be a very well rounded chain break kit with everything you need to do the job properly and with efficiency. ... show more

  • Great value!
While I love Park Tools and their quality, it likely would have cost 10 times as much to buy the same tools from them. So unless you're a bike mechanic or find yourself removing chains multiple times a year, these are the perfect occasional use tools. To come with a chain breaker, master link pliers, chain stretch measure tool, and three quick links is an excellent value for only $8. The chain breaker comes with an extra pin in case one breaks too. Each tool feel sturdy, comfortable to hold, and like it should last for a long time. ... show more

  • This is a must-have set for proper chain maintenance!
This is a great bicycle chain maintenance tool set. It comes with two Master links and a chain tensioning tool to hold the chain together so you can clip it together with the pliers. It also has a chain break so you can take links out or take a chain off that doesn't have a master link. I highly recommend this tool set. ... show more

  • Not the highest precision tools, but effective
The media could not be loaded. These tools are effective, and the important dimensions check out. The quality of the tools is not great. In the video I post, I'm showing runout as I move the tool. If you're keeping an eye on the chain pin as you engage it and make adjustments with your fingers to insure centering, it works great. It's just an indicator of sloppy design tolerances for the tool. I personally would not take these on the road with me and depend on their operation when it really counts, but I'm going to be using these tools in my shop, and for that, they are fine for it. ... show more

  • Good quality tool set for mike chain maintenance or replacement
This tool set is a must have for a bike chain maintenance. It is well made and is comfortable to use. The kit comes with the chain pliers to hold the chain ends together while installing the master link, the tool to push the chain pin out to break the chain, a chain measuring tool and few extra chain links. The set is well made and is functional. It looks like it will hold up to the chain maintenance for many years. Definitely recommended for DYI bike mechanics, who seek less expensive alternatives for well known brands. ... show more
