  • Here's a tip about this inflator
This is a great tool, but prepping the presta side grommet is critical. Do yourself a favor and get some silicone lube (hardware stores have this, sometimes called faucet lube), pull the grommet out and put just a dab in the hole of the grommet, then wipe it off.....Reinstall the grommet and cap and adjust with your 8mm hex. The install and removal of the presta valve will be MUCH smoother. Also follow the recommendations to use the tool near the 12 O'clock position so you are pushing up / on and pushing off / down to remove....Made all the difference in the world for me.... ... show more

  • Great Tool to Own
I hesitated to spend this much money on this type of tool. Fifteen seconds after first using it, I was glad I made the purchase. I ride my bike daily. Using an adapter to air up the Schrader valves got to be a real pain in the butt. I never could get the adapter and my existing inflator to work together. I read the reviews on the Park Tool Shop Inflator and decided to take the leap. I unboxed it, connected it to my air line, and took maybe five seconds to air up each tire. Then, I flipped the nozzle and aired up my motorcycle tires. No more adapters, no more pain in the butt. What’s not to love about that. And as I say about other things, I’m only buying it once. Not once every week or every month or every year. I spent the money once and got rid of a headache. ... show more

  • So much better than the knock off inflators
Doesn't leak air. Just works, flawlessly.

  • Glad I bought this
I put off buying this inflator after reading way too many negative reviews. I have learned that the majority of the negative reviews out there can not be trusted. I have experienced ZERO of the issues that I read about. I think that too many morons consuming products today have little to no true mechanical aptitude and are the causes of the majority of failures. I only wish the neck was longer so this could be used for inflating auto tires too. ... show more

  • It’s very easy to use.
This tool is what they use at the bicycle shop that I go to. Noticing how easy it is to use, I asked where I could get one. The answer was Amazon!

  • Nice features, small, easy to hold, Presta side needed to be reseated to work properly
This is a very pricey inflator for daily bicycle shop use I also use it for my vehicles, lawn equipment and other pneumatic tires. I do a lot of bicycle repair and rebuilding and I check my tire pressure before every ride. This inflator works really well for schrader valves but initially I had issues with Presta valves which was disappointing. The “issues” with presta valves are that the rubber inflation side for presta valves wouldn’t seal tight, it leaked air and it was annoying to use. I initially used a Schrader to Presta converter on Presta valves which defeats the propose of the Presta inflation end on the Park tool. After further inspection, it turns out the hex retention ring that holds the Presta rubber seal into the inflator head was far too tight which reduced the rubber seal diameter restricting the Presta valve from seating properly. I loosened the hex retaining ring on the Presta side and now it works fine. I added a drop of blue lock tite on the Presta retention ring threads to be sure it didn’t come loose and vanish in my shop. I like the pressure release that lets you dial in the exact PSI requires, the swivel head with the schrader and presta fill heads and the ability to use the head as a blow gun. I attached a few photos of the Park inflation next to my 10 year old Milton auto inflator which has gotten very inaccurate over time. The other two photos show the schrader and presta ends on the swivel inflator head. The photo shows the Presta valve far too tight - after I loosened the retention ring, the rubber seat hole increased in diameter by 50%. If you drop the big bucks on this inflator and the Presta side won’t work as expected, try loosening the hex retention cover like I did. I’ll give this inflator 4 stars for its hefty price and the “adjustment” required on my part to make it work properly. Hope that helps! ... show more

  • Makes an unpleasant task a joy to do. Treat yourself to the best.
Floor pumps are a pain. The Park tool valve is a pleasure. It’s a task I do several times a week on an expensive bike. Now when I top off the pressure in my tires I feel the way you feel when you use a very good tool. On the basis of another review here I also bought the California Air tools compressor. It’s so quiet! I’ll never put up with the roar of a compressor again. Most of our bike tires have presta valves. The ParkTool valve works great every time. The included directions are misleading. They say: “Press the head FULLY onto the presta valve.” Actually you stand above the tire with the valve stem at the top. Unscrew (open) the valve core. Hold the handle of the INF-2 with one hand and the head in the other and pull the head over just the tip of the valve stem. The rubber seal in the head then rests at the top of the threaded body of the presta valve. It does not go over and onto the main body of the Presta valve the way many floor pumps do. A bit of air is released from the tire as the head seals on the presta valve but who cares because I pull the trigger on the INF-2 and it fills my tire while the watch the easy to read gauge and no air is released when the head is removed. If I were Park Tool I’d rewrite those instructions and illustrate the proper positioning. One reviewer suggests using a drill to enlarge the opening of the rubber gasket. It apparently worked for him but it’s totally unnecessary. I’ve used this on several different tires on our bikes and even the schrader valves on our Townie bikes and all work perfectly. Do your self a favor. Buy one! ... show more
