I bought this for my elderly parents and tried it in person for a week. Its been almost a month and with 100 plus degree heat for 5 days in a row still going strong from what they tell me over the phone. The plug has 3 prongs, and their wall had only 2 holes for the outlet, so i had to but an adapter at the hardware store for a few dollars but it worked great. Easy to assemble and moves around easily. They have really old windows but it adjusted no problem, however you will probably need to save part of the box and tape it to the window to seal some space that inevitably happens with the unit shifting to really seal it off, but even without taping parts of the box to the window it worked really great. It does shut off on its own when it reaches the desired temperature (I thought it broke) but it kicks back on once it senses the temperature increase. It easily cools the guest bedroom I was in and when I wheeled it to the master bedroom it did great in there too. Probably not good for a large living room however. ... show more

This AC is small enough that you can move it around which is made easier with the caster wheels. I was shocked to see how powerful it is and it can really pump out the cold air. The digital display is great but when using the remote you have to be near it as the display is on the top of the unit instead of on the front but either way it works very well. When pressing the buttons ontop all you have to do is gently touch them. It is very responsive!! It is very Easy to install and get hooked up in your window. I have found that using oscillating fans infront of the AC unit helps to project the coolness throughout your house. I am yet to find any complaints but will edit my review if I find any. This portable air conditioner is compact and does a good job cooling in the room size it’s recommended for. My only issue with it is that it doesn’t show the current temperature in the room. My previous air conditioner showed the temperature of the room instead of the temperature. I had set once the display cleared after I set the temperature. Otherwise it does a great job. The media could not be loaded. This portable air conditioning unit is great for someone looking to cool a single small room. You will want to make sure the room door stay shut or seal off the room so that the cool air doesn’t escape. It’s easy to move around on the wheels, but not easy to move up and down stairs during install. The thing I like best about this air conditioner is that it’s not hard to use. Some that I have used in the past have had too many bells and whistles that I didn’t need and would never use. This one is simple to set up and to understand. The remote and buttons are all clear and basic. The thing that I like least about this unit is how hot the exhaust hose gets. The hose is made of a thin and flexible plastic that doesn’t do anything to insulate the hot air. It releases a ton of heat back into the home when pushing the warm air out. To combat this, I wrapped the hose with a portable AC insulation cover. I purchased the insulated cover on Amazon which it is affordable and very effective. Overall, I would recommend this unit to those that are looking to cool down a single bedroom or otherwise small room. ... show more

I like to workout in my garage but let's be honest - in the southern summers it gets dangerously hot regardless if the garage door is opened or closed. Even though my garage is a little bit bigger area (about 350 sq ft) than the recommended square footage, (230 sq. ft) it does an amazing job bringing down the ambient temperature to make it much more tolerable when working out. It doesn't keep it 69 degrees in my garage but i didn't expect it too either. It has no problem though keeping it in the low to mid 70's even on hot 90+ degree days. I added additional insulation to my garage door which has gone a long way in helping to maintain the cool air this unit puts out. The install was pretty easy, i was able to run a heavy duty extension cord around the garage to the far side where it sits next to the wall close to my garage window where I was able to use the included window kit to run my exhaust and drainage. Moving it around and aiming it in different directions is easy to do since it comes with smooth rolling caster wheels. So even though it is quite heavy - you would never know rolling it around. Everything is easy to control from the included remote but i prefer to use the built in 24 hour timer to have it come on an hour or two before my planned workout time. ... show more

This portable 10,000 BTU unit does not cool off the less than 300 sq ft room. It has to run 24 hours a day, never reaching the temperature desired nor anywhere near the temperature. This portable unit was to replace my window unit which is half the BTUs of this. The window ac cools the room within minutes, this Costway unit may get the temperature down if running non stop overnight. Basically it is a big brick in my living room, so I may try it at work to cool off a 100 sq foot area. Also lacks with just a two speed fan. Two things going for it. #1 is not very noisy and #2 makes an excellent TV tray table for snacks and such. Ha Ha ... show more

Pretty easy to install. Works OK but not great. It cools off a smaller room but isn’t that noticeable in our living room. Also drains a lot of water and needs to be dumped frequently so we can’t leave on when we leave the house. Overall it’s ok, but our window unit worked much better.

Works absolute wonders! Chills the room very well, sometimes a little too well, lol. My bedroom has little insulation as it’s a reformed attic so in the Summer when it’s above 70F outside, the room always feels extremely hot and muggy as all the cool air from the house escapes from the roof of my room. I’ll wake up sweating and have a hard time sleeping during the day (I work third shift). This aircon has been such a wonderful and welcome change. The only thing I will say, make sure to get some duct tape, or a thicker hose, to keep the hose in place on the unit as it started falling out due to the unit kicking out warm air.
