Description

Assorted Foliage features assorted, green foliage. These houseplants are great for small spaces. They do well in spaces that have bright, indirect sunlight. Place live plants in a spot that receives bright light. Water plants about once a week with approximately 1/2 cup and be sure all excess water drains away. Adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Assorted Foliage sit in water or overly soggy soil. The height at dispatch is approximately 8-inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The live plants arrive in 4-inch décor pots. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. The live house plants are moderate growers. Exact growth rate depends on the care provided and its environment. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for potted plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. I ordered these plants because when I was in the interior landscaping business, Costa Farms was known as an excellent grower of interior plants, and I used many of their products. When these small plants arrived, one had several brown leaves. However, I dropped it when I took it out of the box, so I didn't want to complain, not being able to identify how much damage was already there and how much damage I did by dropping. Of course, the brown leaves were there, but my drop could have caused unseen damage. I removed the bad leaves and watered the plant and expected it to revive and do well. Another plant was totally wilted. But I watered it well, and it seemed to revive and looked good. The third plant was fine. I cared for the plants carefully, and I was one of the first 50 certified interior horticulturists in the nation, so I know how to care for indoor plants. Unfortunately, in spite of my best efforts, the two damaged plants died. I looked at the product description and saw a number for Costa Farms for a guarantee. I called that number, and the man I spoke with said Amazon was responsible for the guarantee. I explained that the Amazon website said Costa Farms was responsible and provided this number to call. He said that wasn't right and gave me a number to call at Amazon. The man who answered said Costa Farms was responsible for the guarantee and gave me a number to call. I told him I had already called that number and the person answering gave me the number I was speaking to him on. He assured me that Costa Farms was responsible, and he would remind them of that. He told me he sent a message to Costa Farms reminding them about their guarantee and promised me someone from Costa would contact me to offer replacements for the two plants that died. I waited for several weeks before writing a review to give Costa Farms time to respond. Unfortunately, they never did. This was very disappointing to me, as the good opinion I had of the nursery from my years as an interior landscaper was tarnished by this. I don't know whether their quality has deteriorated in the 25+ years since I dealt with them, whether they are better with the large plants we used in interior landscaping than the small plants in this order, or whether this was just a confusing glitch. I wanted to add some greenery to one of the rooms in my office and maybe purify the air a bit, so I picked up these plants. They arrived packed nicely—all three of them looked good at first. Unfortunately, one didn’t make it past three weeks. I didn’t bother returning it since I wasn’t sure I’d get the same quality replacement, and honestly, it serves as a warning to the other two: behave or face the same fate. The surviving pair have been champs. Over the last five months, they’ve doubled in size from when I got them. They’re easy to maintain once they settle into the environment—I don’t have to water them too often, which is a plus. They’re doing so well that I’ll need to repot them into bigger pots soon. If I had more space, I’d definitely grab more of these. Overall, pretty happy with how they’ve turned out, despite the one casualty. ... show more

One plant is completely dead, another is umhealthy but could possibly kick back, the other 4 I expect to settle in and live on fine. Just a bit wilted and soil was very dry when it arrived. Got them fresh damp soil and expect a perfect recovery. Nice little plants though , the ones that were alive. They were packed safely, box was in good shape. They were wrapped in plastic and paper with a bamboo stick so they didnt get smashed around in transport. So must have been temperature or lack of light that poorly affected a few. The size was as expected for a starter plant, reasonable price. Loved the variety and info on each plant, just wish they all would have made it. ... show more

I received my plants a little over a week ago & I have to say that I am pleased so far. I was impressed with how they were packed... every plant arrived well-watered & in great shape. I up-potted them within 36 hrs. My house is probably cooler than they'd like right now (it is winter in the Northeast afterall) but they're getting plenty of light, I'm keeping a close eye on them & I'm sure they'll be fine. One plant came with lots "crunchy" leaves but looks healthy otherwise. Hoping it'll bounce back soon. Added bonus... no bugs, so far!! YAY!! My only "complaint", if you want to call it that, is that all of the paperwork (invoice, info sheets, etc) was placed in the bottom of the box under the plants so they were soaked, stuck together and unreadable. (I tried drying them out but it didn't help much.) Maybe in the future you can put those papers in a plastic bag so they won't get ruined.
