It’s a good tent, great size and super easy to set up. The full rain fly on a tent this size is super nice and I camped with it in 20 degrees with constant rain and snow, it had 0 issues protecting us. But, I noticed on only the 2nd use it had a hole. CORE then reached out and verified the issue and immediately fixed it by replacing the tent. Amazing customer support. The floor and netting of the tent are easily cheap materials, floorprint recommended and honestly I’m not sure if the tent floor is just weak or prone to injury because of user error when packing back up. Bought this to replace the Coleman pop up- this is bigger and fit our cots perfectly. I like the window/door options and the rain fly covers entire tent that goes completely to the ground is a big bonus

I just tested it out to make sure it is in good condition before we leave on our trip. this is the 9 person instant cabin. Setting up the main tent literally took 5 minutes my first time it was pretty easy. All of the stitching looked solid and there were no holes anywhere near the stitching. Many areas are taped/glued behind the sewing for the zippers so that is a plus for keeping water out of the tent. the floor area seems sturdy and is the thickness of your average waterproof tarp. the rain fly slides on pretty easy and takes about 5 minutes to align correctly and another 5 minutes to drive all of your stakes into the ground. there were a few rough spots in the bug netting for the windows where the strings were slightly separated but they were not spread out enough to let mosquitos in from what i can tell. The only main complaint is the top fabric supports at the very center of the tent which helps keep the tent attached to the poles seem small. I would think the main runner going the whole length of the top of the tent would we wider with a wider strip of fabric sewn in to support holding up the tent. These are also the same fabric areas that are stitched into the areas where you would hang your lights etc so I just think they should be a bit more robust but thats the only area that worries me. I am using this for 5 months in alaska so I will update if it fails terribly lol. ... show more

A bit part of the decision to purchase my tent was in selecting a company that would stand by their product. I looked at the Core Website and the About the company section. Their story was very appealing to me. They state that they are a group of folks who left their corporate gigs to start a company that they could be proud of. Based on their extraordinary customer service and high quality product, they are living their mission. The tent is perfect. I wanted one with a full rain fly and Core is one of the only companies I found that have those. When the tent arrived we set it up and unfortunately it seems that a machine snagged the tent during manufacture and there were a total of 5 small holes in the mesh and one in the side of the tent. I immediately checked to return the tent to Amazon but to my dismay they had sold out of this type of tent and not even Core has them in stock. I then reached out to Core to see what could be done. Their customer service responded within the promised 48 hours and asked me to upload photos of the damage, the model number and the receipt. Within 24 hours of my upload they responded and told me that the tents are sold out but that as soon as they receive the new batch they will be sending me a new one. They also are sending patches for me to use on the existing tent so that I can still go camping in the meantime. As for the tent, it is exactly what I am looking for. once it was unpacked it literally took less than 2 minutes to unfold and set up. The rain fly was on in less than three minutes. Once the tent is up it does take a bit longer to set the guys and stake the tent to the ground. It's a wonderful tent with excellent quality and we are looking forward to many camping adventures in it. Core is a really great brand. I will plan to purchase other camping supplies from them as I know they stand behind what they manufacture. ... show more

    • Love the tent, but not durable

UPDATE: I spoke to customer service and the warranty does not cover damage from weather. I can’t support a company that doesn’t stand by their product. This is the last CORE product I buy. My family and I are serious campers. We camp for a month or more at a time all across the country, changing campsites every night or two. We encounter many kinds of weather so I looked for a tent that could handle the rigorous wear and tear of our lifestyle. After reading numerous reviews, the specs of various tents, and consumer reports, I chose this one. I was impressed with its ease of set up and that it was large enough to stand up in. Even with the rainfly on, we still had air flow (which is amazing in a heat dome like we were). But, the first time we used it, the floor of the tent tore at the juncture of all the legs. My last tent I used for 3 years and never had a tear so I was surprised that it tore so easily. Because of its location, I think this will be a common problem. The bigger issue and the reason for two stars, is that one of the tent legs broke in a thunderstorm we were in. My son literally was holding the tent up as it caved in on us in the wind. The next day when taking it down, we noticed one of the legs was broken at the joint, which is not fixable. We still have 2 weeks to go and now we don’t have a tent. Really unhappy it couldn’t even last 2 weeks. ... show more

This is the best tent ever. Easy to set up, great wind protection and lots of room. We set this tent up in the rain and only took 10 minutes. We had a king bed system, two sleeping bags, three dogs and a kitchen system inside and still room to move around. Couldn't ask for anything more.
