These were easy to install and fit perfect with the measurements. When I say they block out the light, they absolutely do. It's amazing. The kilowatt usage for the day went down by 10. It doesn’t matter what store you go to it is hard to find these at a reasonable price. Look no further the price is right and they give 100% blackout! my daughter has a hard time sleeping when the sun is still out with daylight savings time. These shades are perfect in that they take the sunlight out of the room. Not only will she take a nap in her room with these at any time of the day, they cut down on our electricity since the air doesn’t go on from the sun making the room hot. I purchased this shade to cover the window on my door in the garage. I wish the shade would have come with an alternative way to install. The instructions were limited and the print was very small & difficult to read. It comes with screws and molly bolt anchors. I wasn’t able to drill into the door, so I had to get creative & purchased command strips. I bought the 15lb picture command strips & attached them to the door and the brackets. It’s working well, so far. The shade is easy to pull down and raise. I didn’t care about the appearance too much as this is an outside door. But it doesn’t look too bad with the command strips. I ordered the 28 inch shade (window is 24 inch) since it was installed on the outside of the window. Definitely agree with ordering an extra 4 inches if you’re planning on installing on the outside of the window. Overall, this shade is a good value for the money & looks nice. I loved that these weren't having to input exact info then having to speak with the manufacturer to make sure it was right. I tried that with Perilux and they never even sent the shades we went back and forth about. THESE however were to the inch and it just made it simpler. Now, granted, windows that were just slightly over the inch mark required the lesser inch so I have some windows that are "more" blackout than others due to the extra gap on the sides. But instal was easy enough although the instructions said to "measure" but never said what to measure to. I just made the brackets flush with the window frame, put the brackets several inches from the sides and it worked. And if you need something custom, you can still customize them. I will probably get some valances later at some point to make it look more complete but these shades are great. I would recommend these for anyone trying to do it themselves and at a cheaper price than Lowe's or Home Depot. So far I've done 8 windows! Only a few more to go and I will have saved literally thousands. 5/5 ... show more

Don't mind my messy backroom in the photo. I'm a messy DIY-er, but I wanted to show how much of the light is blocked on the door with this shade versus the blinds we have on the side of the door. The backroom gets really warm in summer, even with tinted windows. The blinds we had on the door prior were broken, but this shade seems to do even better than the blinds. I used two of the same holes drilled from the previous blinds and then drilled two more for the new brackets for the new shade. Two things I'd improve on if I were this company: 1) They should tell you which side is up on the brackets. 2) I didn't want the shade to begin tearing and flapping around everytime we opened the door so I added Velcro to the back of the shade handle to keep it still. They should market this as a shade that you can use on doors and include Velcro in the box. Would purchase again. Seems decent quality and blocks 100% of the light. ... show more
