Saw all the great reviews for this ionizer so figured it was worth trying. It is AMAZING! As good as everybody says it is. Keeps our pool sparkling clean with little effort. We have a 24' x 54" above-ground pool and put 1-2 3" chlorine tablets in 3 floaters and pretty much let it go. The tablets will dissolve over a week or so and then we'll fill them back up. Clean off the copper anode of the ionizer about 3 times a week, usually just with the hose and the little wire brush. Every 2-3 weeks my husband will use a drill with a wire brush on the end and do a more thorough clean for a minute or so. And that's it. Pool is totally clear, just have to scoop out the usual leaves and stuff. My husband was VERY skeptical but now tells everybody about this amazing thing his wife bought. The only regret I have is not finding this last summer when I first bought my house with a pool! So I purchased this July 10. I received it within days. My pool was filthy when I first got this because I had just gotten back from vacation. I read in the directions to make sure the pool was clean first. So I attempted to clean the pool the best I could but it was being stubborn. It did get to be blue but cloudy then back with algea. I had this thing in there the entire time and just waited and continued to clean my pool the best I could. Adding lots of shock, algecide, and vacuuming it. I could only do so much and nothing was working to make the water clear clear. The directions said wait about 2 weeks so I did. Nothing yet. But I knew the directions said it wouldn't clean already existing algae but it would prevent it. So I just left it in and had the pool people come out during this time and clean it real good for me. They came out 4 times in 3 weeks. Got it crystal clear. Mind you the beginning of summer and all last summer I was the only one keeping up with my pool because I couldn't afford to keep having a pool person come out to clean it. And it was rough on me to keep trying to keep it clean. I would get it all nice and clean and then rain would come or a lot of people swimming or whatever. I dont mind maintaining my pool but it was getting exhausting and even more so on me now because I deal with chronic pain. So I had to find a better solution. This copper Flo was it! After the pool guys came to clean it real good this time I kept that in the pool and did nothing to the pool for almost the last 7 weeks before I closed it (which I am getting it closed today) except skim it with the net, clean the skimmer baskets and make sure there was chlorine tablets in the automatic feeder and the pool stayed crystal clear the entire time! No shock. And no other pool products for the last 7 weeks! And even when the chlorine tablets would run out and the testing strips said 0 chlorine the pool still stayed crystal clear that entire time! I didn't vacuum it either and no slime or filth on the sides. Just clumps of hair and debris that would fall to the bottom or stay at top for me to skim off with the net. It sucks that I had to get a crystal clear pool at the END of summer. Sigh. But now I know what to do for next summer for my pool! Have the pool guys come out to open and clean it real good then pop in my copper Flo and hopefully have a crystal clear pool ALL summer long! Which by the looks of it, I will have that! 😊 Also, I added it up and feel that this will save me between $1,000 and $1,500 over the entire pool season on chemicals! I HIGHLY recommend this product! The pics: The first pic is a collage of my pool with the dirtiest of those pics being my pool at the end of June beginning of July. The 2nd one of those is of my pool after the first pool company I hired failed at clearing it up. Smdh. The 3rd one is after the 2nd pool company I hired to clear it up and the 2nd pic I posted was just taken last week so about 6 weeks after the pool company cleaned it. And in all that time we had several days of rain and many people and dogs in my pool and it still is crystal clear! 😍 I'm super sad today that I even have to close it! 😭 Update: I sold this house in IL with a pool and recently purchased a house in FL with a pool so I will be buying another one of these!! ... show more

This thing is an absolute game changer. If you have a pool, I highly recommend it. The CopperFlo Pool Buddy is a floating solar powered ionizer. It keeps free chlorine from rapidly deteriorating in the Summer heat and direct sunlight. Our family lives in Central West Texas and temperatures have been in triple digits for more than three weeks. I put it in when we set up this new pool on June 12th after our old pool tore and collapsed while filling it. I have not had to add any shock to the water at all so far. I just put a 3" chlorine tablet or two in our chlorine dispenser float and the ionizer does the rest. I use a net to get floating debris out of the water and vacuum the bottom once a week because the pool is right next to a couple of pecan trees. But that's as far as my pool maintenance goes this year and I could not be more pleased. In previous years, it was a constant battle to keep the water from turning green. We spent more time adding chemicals and cleaning than actually enjoying the pool. The CopperFlo Pool Buddy is not exactly cheap but it's worth every penny of it. I'm glad I made the investment and in the long run this will save me a ton of money on pool chemicals. Our pool is now crystal clear and inviting with minimum effort. ... show more

The Copper Flo is a game changer. Before i purchased the Copper Flo it was a constant battle between chlorine, PH, green algae growth, or kids complaining of chaffing (which i attributed to to much chlorine). After receiving the CF I put it into the pool, brushed the walls, shocked the water, turned my chlorine feeder off and never did much more than that for months. I have a Chlorine Floater in the pool, and i kept 1 tablet in it, replacing every 7-10 days and it was perfect for the summer. Towards the end of the year i noticed that the copper rod wasn't oxidizing like it had been. I reached out to CF, Doug had me run a few tests and ended up sending me a new unit (Thanks Doug). Amazing customer service which i had heard about from friends of mine that owned CF. The new one works great, and I'm back to enjoying the pool with very little maintenance.. ... show more
