    • Bad Customer Service and refuse to replace bad unit. BUYER BEWARE

After 3 months installation, I spent a total of $1,092.54 for adding freon and for troubleshooting services from licensed company. Cooper&Hunter refuses to replace bad unit even with proof from licensed company saying it's a bad unit. I paid $500 for isolation test and Cooper&Hunter refuses to accept this troubleshooting method. They require die test but licensed company said die test will definitely destroy the unit. I bought 2 units from Cooper&Hunter and 1 out of 5 air handlers go bad and they would not send a replacement. Bad customer service and absolutely no customer care at all. Very unhappy with how they are handling this situation. They really don't care. The seller isn't helping much either. ... show more

I bought and self installed this unit two years ago, and haven't had any issues since. After buying electrical equipment, line-hide, and paying an HVAC contractor to fill and pressurize the system, I spent about $3300 - I just read an article saying heat pump installs are costing upwards of $20,000. I called the company line to speak to their customer support before I purchased, and they were responsive and knowledgeable enough that I felt comfortable in the case that I needed them, but haven't had to make a call so far. I'm in New Hampshire where it gets down to the -20s a few times during the winter - although the unit has to go into defrost repeatedly, it accomplishes the task of keeping the bedroom in the mid 60s overnight, which is more than I expected. ... show more
