  • Excellent mini split but I have some install notes
Size: 18,000 BTU
Got the 18k BTU for a 700 sqft well insulated home. It has more then enough power and can turn this place into a freezer. Amazingly quiet, almost silent inside and outside. Tons of features. Overall a very impressive unit. If you are forgoing the warranty and installing yourself I have some notes. * The docs state the need for 16 awg 4 conductor wire. But the unit only needs 3 conductors (2 hot phases and one ground on the 220v model) so save some money and just run a 3 conductor. Also while 16 awg is plenty for this unit 14 awg is a better fit for a 15A circuit breaker * the colors of the wires are wrong in the diagram so go by the numbers You need the following to install: * a stud finder * a 2.5" hole saw * a drill and small drill bits * ideally a long drill bit for verification of position before using the hole saw * a screw driver * a vacuum pump * a HVAC gauge set * nyloc blue hvac sealant * wrenches or 2 vice grips * a standard flare tool for copper pipes and pipe cutter if you want to shorten the run * 2-3 wire holders for the knockout holes * outdoor silicon sealant * a stand or pad or blocks or pavers to mount to * ideally a refrigerant leak tester The unit will arrive on a pallet and is heavy. U will need 2 people or a dolly to move it. The minimum line size is 10 ft max is 25 ft. Flare fittings should be very tight but be carful. The nyloc is worth using. Try to mount the outside unit up off the ground (snow, bugs) and leave enough space behind it to clean it. Overall a handy person is capable of completing this install. It took me an entire weekend to complete. Very happy with this heat pump. ... show more

  • Just great!
Size: 18,000 BTU
This is a really nice unit. Very powerful and quiet.. I have not yet tested the cooling. So far the heating has worked flawlessly this winter. Will update my review this summer when I use the cooling. Fast and professional shipping with RL Carries.

  • So far so good
Size: 24,000 BTU
As of right now, this thing is awesome. After the install, and a two hour vacuum, the valves were opened up, pressures and amperage checked, and the tests began. First things first.... this thing is QUIET! You can stand next to the outdoor compressor/condensor and not hear it run. In indoor unit is more than acceptable in volume too. It was 65*F outdoors when the test began. In heat mode it brought my stand alone 650 sqft addition with heat loss through floor to ceiling screens with roll up steel shutters on one full wall from 65* up to the set 75* in 20 minutes. I then put it into cool mode. It brought the temp from 75* down to 70* in 15 minutes. These tests were done on an extremely mild outdoor temperature day, so it is unknown how it will react in extreme highs and lows as of yet. I will update this post in the future if anything fails miserably in any aspect. As of right now, I am impressed. On a side note, don't forget the Nylog blue for a good seal on the flare joints. ... show more

  • Need Better Manual
Size: 9,000 BTU
I'm overall happy with the unit. I installed it myself within maybe 6 hours and that's including the hour or two to vacuum the line before releasing the Freon which you have to do. I didn't use any of the blue stuff and did cut down the line set and after a year no leaks, still cools and heats great. Why the 1 start then we'll I'm quite upset with the documentation. Usually when you have something like this you have a big book that has anything and everything and then a quick start guide. One good example is the manuel has no documentation on the remote and says to look at the quick start or getting started guide in the remote section. The biggest thing that was the most upsetting in all of the documentation it doesn't mention anywhere that the remote itself is the thermostat. The entire time I used the unit I would put the remote down on my night stand that the unit actually blows on. So when heating it would blow hot air at the remote then slow down heating or stop while I'm freezing my butt off. I thought the entire time I had this that the temperature sensor was in the head of the unit kinda like a window unit. The entire time I thought the remote was just a remote, like you know every other remote. If this was written somewhere I'd own it but it's not. Something like that should be printed on the back of the remote or like a sticker. Usually if it kinda stopped heating or cooling I bumped it up some to compensate so it was manageable but definitely woke up frozen solid many many times during the winter. So any way I only found this out when I was looking in the Amazon answers if you can use this with a standard thermostat that I could put on a wall a little further away so it could regulate a little better. In one of the answers a guy gave a vague thing saying that it follows the remote which hit me like wait are you kidding me. So I think waking up frozen in my bed because they couldnt reference once anywhere, even in remote guide, that the remote is what is reading the temp and to put it in a good location is good enough to justify getting a one star. ... show more

  • Great system love it!!!
Size: 24,000 BTU
This thing rips!! 24000 btu hyper unit. I have installed about 100 of the mini split in the field and 3 at home and this is my favorite for sure. -30° running temperature outside is a huge bonus. I will buy another. 2 cons they made the liquid line way longer then suction but I cut and flared them to fit. Also the wifi should be included. Update 1/1/23 our temperature has dropped below zero for over a week straight -5° mostly this unit rocked the whole time. Defrosts automatically and back to work I absolutely love this thing!!! Another thing my power bill went way down compared to central air that didn't work half as good as this. ... show more

  • Very Unhappy
Size: 18,000 BTU
The unit is less than 1 year old. Called HVAC tech because ac is not cooling. He said the outside unit is bad. Guess I’m out nearly $2000. Very dissappointed.
