i bought this for my friend and painted the cover, but when removing a bit of the paint with straight up just water the cover tore. i swear im not a rough person so please just be careful if u paint it🥲🥲🥲

This sketchbook is very attractive with a lovely bold color. The paper is a nice quality but not the thickest cardstock material. If you try drawing with markers it will bleed through so I recommend using scrap paper between pages but otherwise it works great with a nice size and easy to turn pages thanks to the spiral binding. ... show more

I'm quarter way through and have been using it for over a month so I can say that the texture of the paper is rough, like light sandpaper so I have to sharpen my pencil a lot. This is not a complaint. Just good to know. I have lots of space to do my practice drawings because of the large size The paper holes are a good distance from the spiral so they do not run the risk of being ripped out easily. None of my 25 completed pages have ripped completely, but one hole started. The back cover is very hard cardboard that cannot be ripped off. The front is light card, but should last until I reach the end of the book as long as I do not accidentally pull it - which is possible. (I hate when the front cover rips off before I finish the sketchbook.) So it could be a little bit thicker. In terms of shading, because of the texture, when I close the book, the shading ends up on the other side facing it, so that you can see a lighter version of what was shaded. I don't find that problematic either, it's a practice sketchbook for me. I also used charcoal pencils. I highly recommend. ... show more

i used this for almost 2-3 years for numerous drawings and the perforated edges always ripped cleanly and i never had an issue with bleeding through even with sharpie or watercolor. the paper never dissolved or flaked but if you use colored pencils i only recommend using one side of the spread unless you're using a sealant because the pencil will transfer. i just bought my second book and i will continue buying for years to come. perfect paper for pencil to grab onto. wont rip or wrinkle too easily and it just overall is worth the money if you can't or don't want to buy a professional grade art sketchbook. overall amazing product, considering my first sketchbook before discovering this one was a cheap one from the drug store. lmao ... show more
