I have ordered two bottles. The product does give the hair some volume, but it not nearly as much as is advertised in the photos. The first bottle worked well. The second bottle I ordered is very hard to pump. It must have been damaged or assembled wrong. I find that the product works with dry or wet hair. For context, my hair is straight and thin. According to the directions, you can use this on dry or wet hair. You also need to section off your hair and work it through the sections, so be prepared to use a good amount of product to see results. On wet hair, it added good volume on day 1. On days 2 and 3, the volume went down and my hair got greasy faster than it does without the product and I quickly developed dandruff. So if your scalp is prone to grease and/or dandruff, I don’t recommend it. On dry hair, it looks like you put gel in your roots and takes a while to set, so if you’re looking for a last minute volumizer on dry hair, I don’t recommend it. I do recommend it if your scalp is not sensitive and you’re looking to add slight volume by working this product into your post-wash hair care routine. ... show more

As I've got older, my healthy silver hair is getting thinner and is super baby fine. I've tried several hair volumizing and thickening products some of which worked pretty good but nothing fantastic and often the manufacturer would for one reason or another discontinue the product leaving me to search again. I read all the reviews on Color Wow thickening lift spray and decided to order the small 1.7 once container. I wash and blow dry my hair about every three days and it would always seem flat and bodyless unless I used the curling iron especially at the crown as I have an awful cowlick. I wanted to find a product that would allow me to just 'wash, blow and go'. This WOW foam turned out to be the best I've ever found! I'll start by telling you that my hair is naturally silver in color and in healthy condition. I keep it cut in a short 'pixie' style and get a trim every five weeks. I wash my hair with a good shampoo but do not use conditioner. Next I towel dry and then after shacking the bottle, I put two sprays of the foam in my hand, rubbing hands together and applying the product directly on my hair. I then blow dry my hair mostly upside down and also use a small round brush for styling. Once dry I do a very light 'backcombing' NOT HEAVY TEASING and then using a wire pick to lift and style the hair before using a holding spray. The style lasts all day and the next day all I do after combing is a little backcombing and spraying and voila, I'm ready for another day! I hope this helps you older gals with short fine thin hair. This is a great product and I just hope the manufacturer doesn't discontinue it. ... show more

    • Adds Volume - Less Effective on Thick Hair

I really like this product and use it frequently, but keep in mind, the results are far less dramatic with thick hair than thin hair. I have long, thick hair, and while this product does add volume, the results are noticable, but not extreme like in the videos for the product. I think my hair is just a little too heavy to let the product work quite as well as it does on lighter, finer hair. I wash my hair, then let it partially air dry. When my hair is wet, but not dripping, I add it to my roots/scalp and blow dry my hair upside down, focusing on the roots. I use heat to dry the roots, then use the cool setting on my blow dryer to "set" the hair. I also use the WOW hairspray and together they give me a good "blow out" look when I style my hair. ... show more

The product was not sticky and left my hair soft. I have tried it with different levels of product but am not getting the volume they show. Thought maybe it was me so went to my stylist and she couldn't get the volume either. Might be just my hair. Hope it works for others.
