  • - I pretty much Ignored the included instructions
I Applied this to my 2017 Silverado. The truck was brand new at the time, having about 180 miles on it at the time of application. My Thoughts and notes: - I pretty much Ignored the included instructions. They weren't very readable, and had been translated poorly. Thankfully, there's a lot of advice, and lots of videos and tutorials out there to help. Before Applying I did the following - 1: Thoroughly Washed the truck 2: Clay bar'd it. (I probably din't HAVE to do this, but if one is unsure, i'd highly recommend it.) 3: "Pre Treatment" Bottle. I believe this is an alcohol solution. (This, however, IS required) Total Pre-Treatment time was a little over 2.5 hours for me. (The car was pretty clean before hand) As for the application of the coating itself, i applied the coating about 1 section at a time. It was only about 50 degrees outside at the time, so i had to do a little bit of waiting before removing the excess. (7 or 8 minutes at 50 degrees, just a note) Removal was relatively easy, without much smearing to take care of. I switched microfiber cloths about halfway through the job. Total time to apply was a little over 3 hours for me. would have been faster if i hadn't had to wait after each section for it to dry. (Make sure you take your time when removing this stuff, and don't miss spots.) After applying, I actually didn't notice the huge improvement in gloss that a lot of people see. I think this is a) because it was overcast outside, making it a little tougher to tell the difference, and b) because the truck was so new and glossy already. It DID, however, have a marked improvement on shedding water. Just like a fresh coat of wax, this sheds water like nobodies business. How long that lasts, I'll update in the future sometime. Additionally, It was also markedly smoother after application than it had been before. All in all, I'll be VERY happy with this product if a year down the line, it sheds water like it does now. 6 Month Update - After 6 months of daily driving, and nightly garage-ing, my truck still does a pretty good job of repelling water, and is still relatively glossy. A touch-less car wash can get rid of whatever road grime comes on my truck pretty easily still, so it's still doing a good job there. Unlike a standard wax job, where I'd probably be looking at a sheet of water on the hood after a rain by now, this one still beads up reasonably well. It seems to be definitely longer lasting than the usual car wax, but at the same time, definitely not quite as water repellent as it was at the beginning. My guess is that I'm about where i would be after 1 to 2 months of using a regular wax, so by my guesstimation this stuff is lasting about 3 to 4 times as long as a regular wax. ... show more

  • Works great, but SLOW YOUR ROLL!
The media could not be loaded. This stuff was awesome. I am more than happy with how it looks and feels. But this is not normal wax, so DO NOT TREAT IT LIKE NORMAL WAX. First, this is is going to amplify clear coat imperfections like scratches and swirls, so doing all the prep work you can to get the best starting point is really going to make the biggest difference. This product isn't so much for hiding stuff, its for protecting and keeping the surface. Though it is pretty neat what it does to plastic. Completely change how you apply this stuff. First off, you really need good lighting and LOTS! of clean lint free cloths. Apply the pre-spray and wipe that around with a sponge. Then put some of the coating on the applicator. Only do this in the stated 2'x2' area. Wipe the applicator back and forth lightly over the surface. Remember, this is a "NANO" coating, not a thick wax coating. It takes very little. DO NOT wait for this to "set up" like normal wax. As soon as you have worked the wax into the surface, start to lightly remove it. Use a clean cloth each time. Fold the cloth so you only have a 3 or 4" by 6" rectangle. You don't need a big area. Lightly remove the extra coating from the surface. Once it looks clear, flip it over and sure the other (clean) side to lightly feather out the edges. Lighting is key, especially if you have a dark car. If you have any extra on the surface it will make sort of a streak or patch, that kind of looks like oil or a hand print on the surface. THIS WILL NOT COME OFF without either stripping it or doing a ton of work to polish it back down. So make sure you are very diligent to remove the extra. I suggest only doing a portion of the car at a time. Once that is done, move it out into the sun and let it cure for a while. Then either give it another coat, or move onto a new section. This stuff feels like glass. I am extremely impressed with it, but you have to take the right steps or you will end up with a pain to correct. ... show more

  • easy to apply. pity the accessories are not up to speed.
So I bought this for my wife's 20 year old maxima. Yes, it was looking tired. Don't believe any product that tells you you can do the short cuts. I washed it, clay barred it, machine polished it with a 7 inch buffer using 3M "finesse it", (super expensive product but very good marine polish). I then washed the car again then went over it with Isopropyl alcohol. I then applied the ceramic coating, and this was the easiest part of the weekend. The results are great. a good depth of gloss to the paint and good water beading after three months. the car looks amazing and not like a 20 year old paint job.The only reason i gave it 4 stars are in the details. the specs say you should have enough for 2 medium cars, and the actual coating will probably have enough to do my SL500 because its tiny. not an issue there, but the instructions say to spray the surface with their "special application spray (sorry, but its been a while since I did it and cant remember the correct name) prior to applying the ceramic to make the sponge glide better. I was very frugal with the spray, but still ran out 2 panels before the end. I filled it with water and finished the car, with no apparent detriment to the outcome. the other problem is they say to put 8 to 10 drops of product at a time on the sponge and it should do 2 sq. ft. Seems to be accurate but the problem is they do not include a dropper or hole in the bottle. I had to drill a hole in the top of the bottle before I could get anything out. I ended up with a very small hole (try drilling a hole in the plastic top) so did 15ish drops to achieve the results. I love the product but get annoyed when things are supplied not as described, or making it more difficult to use than it should be. The devil is in the details!! ... show more
