I really like the wax for protecting door hardware. It is fairly easy to apply and buff to a nice shine. I would recommend that you buff it off before it dries / sets up too much because it will leave swirl marks from the application. These are easy to remove by simply applying more product and buffing out before too long.(3-5 minutes range worked good for me) ... show more

This stuff is amazing. I had a very old armoire with wooden drawers sliding on wooden rails, though 'sliding' is a term used loosely here, until that is I applied this wax. I applied 2 coats of this wax, 5 days apart, to the drawers and rails. Not only do the drawers slide in and out flawlessly, I applied the wax to all other exposed wood too and it just brought out the color, grain, and shine of the whole surface, maple I think. This stuff does give off a very strong solvent odor which did give me a headache for a couple of hours; it took 3-4 days with fans going and windows open when it was 70 degrees outside for the smell to dissipate. The smell reminded me of my grandpas garage, that must be how he kept all his wooden furniture so darn shiny and smooth! BUT once the smell goes away, the finish and performance is worth it. ... show more

I ordered this product on a whim after reading about using this wood working tools. I am blown away! I used this on my drill press first and I just couldn't believe how much easier the tray was able to slide up and down the pole. I used it on my table saw next. Again, blown away! This made running a sheet of wood over the table and through the saw a breeze! Zero issue, no gumming up! Next, I thought well, it sure would be nice if wood would slide across my radial arm saw better. I used this on the wood top and again, it worked great! I built a set of built-in bookcases in my family room and worried about the fresh paint being too tacky to be able to actually put books on the shelves without the books peeling up paint if they sat there for a long time, so I got this and applied it like the directions suggested and it worked wonderfully! The paint isn't nearly as tacky, and even my heavier books didn't stick at all to the shelves after sitting for more than a month. The smell is a bit harsh at first, so make sure to have a fan or open some windows, but other than that I was really happy with it! I am going to use it on other furniture now! ... show more

Johnson paste wax is the best wax I use on my machines and on wood projects. however ordered this in August 2023 and just opened to find it had been used and looks melted. very upset, should have looked after delivery, return window closed. do not buy from this seller-- Best Junction Price. ... show more

I was born in 1939 and grew up hearing the sound of my (Bushia's (Grandmother's in Polish) 1916 Singer treadle sewing machine going ta-pa-ket-ta-pa-ket-ta-pa-ket, and probably banged my head standing up under it when I was a toddler. Today I still use her machine and hear the same ta-pa-ket. Every week on Wednesday, Busia would clean the house, ending up with her sewing machine. She always used this Johnson&Johnson wax to bring her machine to the beautiful rich shine that endures today with my use of J&J's fine product! As everyone knows, the better the finish on a fine antique, the more dollar value when you come to sell it... Well, I will never sell my Bushia's sewing machine, and my Granddaughter has promised she'll take it when I'm gone, and she'll keep polishing it with J&J! BTW, my master mechanic son listened to the machine with his stethoscope, and it runs so well he could not hear anything- not a click or a squeak!
