It isn't every day that one purchases an umbrella - especially when living in the desert. But I did want an umbrella, and having had more than my share of the collapsible, fit-in-your tote variety, I wanted a REAL umbrella, with a wide canopy, one very sturdy and able to withstand high winds and gusts, and strangely, one with a convenient handle. I'd been to London/UK and crossed my fingers to see if amazon had a British made umbrella with the features noted above, and Voila!! I found the Collar and Cuffs umbrella with ALL the features I was wanting. It arrived with lightning speed, with a lovely, thoughtful note vowing excellent customer service. Though I've not yet had opportunity to use the umbrella, I actually purchased TWO umbrellas as gifts for family. My husband helps people to and from the church building in inclement weather, and my beloved Sister lives in upstate New York where it rains frequently and heavily and she typically arrives at her office rather damp on such days. As the beloved sister and I are rather mad Anglophiles, I KNOW she will be tickled pink to use this umbrella after she receives it at Christmas. I told friends of the purchase, and it was so interesting that all three said they wanted the link to amazon so they could buy the umbrella as well. Lighter than common smaller umbrellas. Great feel, feels solid, not delicate, light, love the wood handle and the 2 straps. Used it in a couple of Florida rain falls, so far a great product.

I have wanted a British style umbrella for quite some time. This one doesn’t not disappoint. It arrived quickly. I was very impressed with the quality. The handle is sturdy, the frame is durable. It’s much more sturdy than the other umbrellas I’ve had before. I love the elegant, sophisticated look. Have used it several times and it’s perfect. Holds up well in the wind; no worries about it flipping or breaking. The only thing I would change is the ability to have the handle custom engraved. But I am VERY pleased with my purchase.     • Very nice, but not great
This is a very nice umbrella. One of the ribs was disconnected from the sleeve that holds the fabric in place on delivery, but this was easy to fix. The handle and fabric are nice and perform well. The plastic components are not of the quality that I expected and am worried a little about its durability. Generally, this is very nice and was intended as an upgrade to my previous umbrella. It is on the handle and strength of the center shaft, but the mechanism durability may not be as good. Replacement was needed as the previous umbrella was old and the fabric was no longer able to perform and had collected holes. Looking for a robust 5 star umbrella and found a nice, but potentially less durable than expected, umbrella that feels as if it will require care, but should give good 4 star service. No reason to not use it and it is certainly worthy recommendation with the noted caveats. As such it is superior to many umbrellas, but less than it might have been... Sorry to have seen the delivery quality issue. A slightly better out of the box experience and upgraded hardware and this would be an easy 5 star umbrella to be proud of and would have been an immediate reorder without consideration when a new one was needed. As is, it give enough pause to cause a search when time for a new one. A little nicer and I wouldn't have bothered to look at another company again. ... show more

I used to own one umbrella like this in Ireland, but then I moved and had to part ways with it. It made me incredibly sad because it was the best umbrella I've ever had. Needless to say I am ecstatic at the opportunity to own the same model once again. This umbrella stands unrivaled in robustness. My friends are amazed at how well it handles strong winds - this umbrella does not bend. I am confident you could stop a river's flow with this thing and it wouldn't bend an inch. Hago esta reseña en español ya que creo que los compradores que no dominan el inglés también merecen reseñas que les puedan servir al momento de adquirir un producto. Compré la sombrilla hace un tiempo ya pero quise tener el tiempo suficiente para dar un concepto claro, en terminos generales es una sombrilla muy bien fabricada, los materiales son buenos y la robustez de la misma da confianza al momento de usarla, en la ciudad que vivo el tiempo es muy variable por lo que pasar de un día soleado a una tormenta es normal, sin embargo en ambas circustancias no he tenido problemas con la sombrilla por lo cual la uso con total seguridad y tranquilidad, sin embargo hay un problema con el material con el que pintan el mango de madera, ya que facilmente se cae haciendo que la sombrilla tenga un mal aspecto como se ve en la imagen, si eres una persona que debe darle un uso intenso a la sombrilla debes tener cuidado con el mango o en cuestión de semanas comenzarás a ver la pérdida de pintura, salvo este detalle recomiendo por completo el producto. ... show more
