This dash cam was great, for the two days it worked. After a couple days. I tried to check some footage, and it wouldn’t connect. Check the camera, it has power, won’t record. Press record, nothing. Disconnect it from power, then reconnect. Has power, don’t record. Won’t connect to app, won’t even show the dash cam as a connection option. Go to support for help. Nothing works. Decide to forget device, delete app, redownload. App doesn’t ever detect the dash cam. Support did nothing. Got tired of messing with it and stopped using it. Best thing about this dash cam was the adhesive that came with it ... show more

Purchased this November, 2023 and must say I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dash camera. The audio and videos are clear! The only downside for me is that the app doesn't have cloud storage, the car and dash must be on and you have to go into the app and connect to the device to download the videos you want, unless you remove the entire camera from the car, or remove the SD card. Gave 4 stars for that reason but other than that it's great! ... show more

Finding the right dash camera with all the selection out there today can be daunting so I'll tell you our experience and why we chose the SC 201 from Cobra. I also added some unboxing images bc that's important to me. Shape/Size, video quality, forward facing and in cab facing, and brand recognition were key factors when making our decision. There are all sorts of shapes and sizes out there now. A small sleek profile that doesn't block visibility was step one. Next we wanted HD/clear video quality 1080P bc what's the use if you can't make anything out clearly if and when we ever wanted to share for fun or when we actually needed it. We have young kids and if you do, you know the best things that ever come out of their mouths are in the car.. When else are we all in one place together without electronic distraction and have time for conversation... Lastly, we couldn't pronounce half the brands out there let alone trust the ones we could and have never heard of. My husband has had Cobra CB's in his trucks over the years and has their marine radios on our boat. Never had issues so we started and ultimately ended here because they have been around for ever and no reason why they wont be for a ling time. Also we found they have every applicable type or use case dash cam you could want. Product itself came with everything we needed including the SD card. We are happy with the size (I'll update with the mounting location in our truck later) and the mounting bracket provides flexibility and is small when you don't have the camera mounted. First couple trips around town and really pleased (actually surprised) on the quality of the video. Has already provided mediation in a dispute, which I won, and for the record after reviewing the tape HE was supposed to defrost the fish for dinner that night.. :) ... show more

Radar detection is mediocre. I get a handful of false positives but worse I get false negatives. App is even worse, it is basically spyware, demanding location service permission always (anything other than enabled all the time, eg "when I'm using the app" and the app doesn't work) then the app always runs in the background, basically always tracking your location. But the radar detector itself isn't great either. I wish my Uniden didn't die. It was better. ... show more

The app is horrible. Took forever to connect to the camera. Constant connection errors. Quicker to take out SD card to view videos. Camera would sometimes just randomly not record video. Now camera will not record and app cannot connect. Gave it 2 stars because video quality was excellent otherwise it is junk. ... show more
