    • Great clock for a great price
This clock really is beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice; the cherry frame of the clock looks gorgeous. The accessory bits are less impressive, but the body is simply stunning. For the price, it can't be beat, and I highly recommend this clock. A few cons to note: The pendulum is rather flimsy. Of course, it's not exactly a load-bearing structure, but if you aren't careful with it when you unpack it, it's easy to bend/crimp the neck of the pendulum, which is noticeable w/ the reflective finish. The chime is of course electronic, and it sounds like it... it's not fooling anyone. With clocks like these, if the unit isn't sitting level, the pendulum may not function properly, and slow down if not stop entirely. I was having exactly this problem, but my clock was perfectly level. I put a level on the pendulum housing itself, and found it wasn't mounted properly... was off just a few degrees. It was very easy to fix... simple matter of 4 screws and a level; anyone could take care of it, but it was a manufacturing flaw. Again, great clock, and the customer service I got from Furniture Creations was fantastic. Yes, it has some less than ideal issues, but in this case, I felt like I got a lot more than I paid for. Very dissapointed You could barely hear it I have bought three sets of batteries thinking that it may have to do with the batteries but its not I had to pay someone to put it together because I dont have the time and I am not handy but know I have this clock that I always wanted but it does not have any volume as per say the furniture part of is nice looking which I could hear it when my grandkids came over they were all eager to hear nana's grandfather clock they were very dissapointed to say the list know I dont even know how to pack to retuned so I may end up with the clock with no sound ... show more

    • Several problems with item, some fixed, some not.

Clock arrived with the frame cracked on the large glass door. It was not repairable. I contacted Amazon who said I could ship it back (HUGE item) or they would refund me 50% of purchase price. I accepted that but the door was still unusable. I contacted the manufacturer, Coaster Home Furnishings, who, after receiving pictures of the damage & proof of purchase, did send me a perfect replacement door free of charge. So the clock looks pretty good...not like an expensive grandfather clock, but adequate. The color of the wood is much redder (almost a maroon) than pictured & I'd like it more brown but it is what it is. My issue now is that I can't get the pendulum to work. I have not contacted anyone about this yet. I assume there is a problem with the wiring. So, in a nutshell, take your chances with this item & expect some problems with quality control & packaging. Kudos to Coaster for addressing the broken door. ... show more

If you are like me and do not want to spend two thousand plus on a nice grandfather clock, you probably have been looking at this one and wondering if it is worth it or not. Based on the low price, you are probably considering that it might really be garbage. I was skeptical, but went ahead and ordered it anyway for our move to a house. It arrived, and the top part of the clock is very heavy, solid wood. The bottom part mostly is more of a veneer type wood. It looks absolutely beautiful in person, and setup was very easy. After three months, it runs great, and looks just like a two thousand dollar clock. I am so glad I ordered it! It is very much a rich cherry color. I am torn on this one, between 4 and 5 stars. It is a GREAT price, and looks great. The only drawback is that with the top part being so heavy and solid, it is slightly top heavy as the bottom part is made of veneers. We were worried about it at first- it is in an entryway area which sees a lot of dog traffic (they run around like monkeys) and so far has held up to them running and brushing against it. But then again my husband thinks we should take an extra step and secure it against the wall. So far we haven't yet... I feel for the price and overall quality it is almost (almost!) five stars, just exercise some caution with it being a bit top heavy. But if you love grandfather clocks, this is gorgeous, runs great and in person looks just like the real McCoy. ... show more

Looks good, but it is extremely cheaply made, parts come bent, bottom was chipped, doesn't keep time, doesn't read right time, off an hour or 2 either way....I get it it's cheaply priced, but not worth anymore the 20 bucks....

I love this grandfather clock. It arrived early packed perfectly with instructions. I put it together and was very pleased. Fit nicely in area I wanted, did not have to balance.. that was a plus. After assembling, put in batteries( not included) pendulum starts swinging, set my preferred chime sounds. Set time and the clock has been working exact time ever since. The clock chimes on the hour of the hour that it is . I took a chance with this clock because you are only looking at a picture and the price, OMG, what a good price! I’ve had the expensive clock for many years and it may have been a bit more ornate in design and sound somewhat louder in sound, but I would have to pull the chains when weights got low to keep the pendulum going and it chimed on every quarter hour.. but this clock is just right for me right now in this time of my life.. no more work pulling chains and this clock does not chime during normal sleeping hours. That’s a plus. Overall, I gave 5 stars !! The product for the price just cannot be beat!! If you can have the same great experience as me, then I recommend this clock.. and one more thing… I saved a lot of money and I am happy!!!🙂 ... show more

My daughter was able to put this together by herself, and it looks really beautiful. It keeps time well and I was thrilled to find a grandfather clock that was actually affordable (no way was I spending $2000 like the other ones cost). Other people have mentioned that the chimes sound "tinny" and that is true. They could have made the sound much nicer, and they should when they make future clocks.
