First of all I would like to say if you’re thinking about purchasing something from CNZ Audio don’t think about it, just do it. I recently bought this CNZ mini jazz bass from Amazon and I wasn’t sure about the company well, I received the bass before the ETA, packaged well and secure. Now for the good part, lol I have been a bass player for 40 years owning many expensive and well known brand names. I am still gigging but getting up there in age so I did many reviews on these short scale basses. I pulled the trigger and got one, received it last week, did some minor adjustments and set up but pretty much came ready to go out of the box. I had a question so I called John at CNZ, he answered my questions, made a suggestion and everything worked out fine. His professionalism and attention to detail was spot on. He even went above and beyond by sending me some pictures of something else I ordered from them that was shipped out immediately. It’s great to see a company that really focuses on customer service in theses days. As for the bass, fit and finish is outstanding, controls are as good if not better than a bass with three times the cost. The quality of this product is truly impressive for the price and I would not hesitate for a minute to do business with this company. I very rarely write a review, but after receiving the bass and dealing with the company once more I would highly recommend, and not be afraid of purchasing anything from them, in fact I already did and it’s on it was. This is a great little bass right out of the box. String change,maybe,but unless one is buying it to make modifications not much else needs to be done. Nice looking instrument. Good action. Impressive tone and tone control for the price,sounds how a jazz bass should sound.A touch of electronic buzz here and there but not bad at all. I have a much more expensive won't mention the maker bass that is noisier than this.And so much fun to play! After years of playing a big P-bass this thing is a joy to run scales on. Definitely going to be my main at home practice bass.It's a winner,I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive short scale bass for whatever reason,whether they're a young beginner or an older player like me starting to feel the ache. ... show more

I ended up going with the surf green bass and I love it. This is not a toy, Its a real functioning instument. It is a budget bass so, you have to keep that in mind. I already expected the electronics, tuners, and hardware werent gonna be high end boutique parts lol but its okay, I got this as a modding platform so Im upgrading everything anyways. But onto the build quality... I have nothing bad to say. Its a 28.6 in scale length, I believe the body wood is alder, neck is maple, fingerboard is rosewood and the neck is straight and has a nice, smooth, satin finish. It was very well put together, the finish was great, no chips, knicks, or smudges. The frets were nice and smooth, no sharp edges. And it had a decent set up out of the box, I only had to fix the intonation, which is super easy with a youtube video. This bass would be a great for kids, beginners, woman, people with smaller hands, guitarist who wanna try out bass, or as a mod platform. It also came with a hand written letter from Cnz Audio which was nice. ... show more
