  • Very useful engraving bit
The media could not be loaded. I still consider myself fairly new to CNC machining, although I'm learning. One thing I kind of always knew was that V-bits are incredibly useful for wood routing. The engravings they produce, especially with text elements, cannot be equaled with any other bit type. One thing I DIDN'T realize, however, was the value of a V-bit with a small angle, like this excellent 15-degree one from YOKISHUN. My thinking was that such a small cutting tip would be too small to accommodate wider lines, and may easily cut all the way through thinner stock in order to get maximum width, which in the case of this bit would be 1/4" wide. What I failed to realize was how valuable it is in creating extremely fine and detailed engravings for smaller text (I was concentrating on larger items when I first started learning). I attached a brief video clip (mostly time-lapse) to this review of how nicely the YOKISHUN engraved a smaller text element in a piece of old scrap plank of pine wood I found lying around the shop. This little video pretty much speaks for itself with respect to the quality of the Yokishun's cut when handling smaller text. There is no way I could get this level of detail using a bit with a larger angle! This single-flute bit cuts smoothly and cleanly - not only because of its super-sharp edge but also because of the low-friction coating on the bit. It's 100% solid carbide for long life as well. I'm glad I have it in my CNC tool arsenal! ... show more

  • Deep 15-Degree Bit
This 15-degree V-bit came in a standard little case that held it in place and protected it in transit. The solid carbide bit cut easily on wood and was sharp. The low angle allows you to cut quite a deep groove if you wish. It held up well thru my testing and will be good for the carving projects I have coming up. The blue coating does seem to help the bit to stay sharp and to produce a clean cut. ... show more

  • Clean cuts on soft wood
Nice clean cuts at 16k rpm on my plunge router. Won't have an issue using this in my CNC. Picture is side by side with 30 degrees bit for comparison. This will be great for finer details

  • Nice detail V bit !
This is a nice little 15 degree v bit. Does very well with fine detail. I don't think durability will last as long as a fancy brand but for the value tradeoff I think this is a good bit. I've run a few jobs and it's holding up well. I'll update if I come across any issues....

  • Nice sharp engraving carbide cutter
I found this carbide cutter worked really well for Engraving acrylic and plexiglass I have not had the chance to try it out on different materials but it really did a great job it's sharp and it precision and cuts fast four stars.

  • Good for fine lettering
This bit is very sharp and had held it's edge after several uses. It works great for small jobs like engraving and fine lettering. I have been using primarily in wood and would be wary of using it on metal. This bit is 15 degrees which I've found is great for producing extremely fine lines. Care should be exercised when zeroing on your material due to the very fine and easily breakable tip. I was very happy to see the size information etched onto the shank of the bit itself. I've bought value bits in the past that haven't had it. Overall, good product for the price! ... show more

  • Scary sharp, very nice.
This Yokishun 15 degree engraving bit is nicely made. It comes packaged in your standard plastic router bit case that makes sure that the bit arrives nice and sharp, and in one piece. The bit is very sharp, and almost scary looking and scary to install into your router. There is so much blade and so little shaft that it is a little nerve-wracking to be holding the sharp blade. NOT AN ISSUE at all, just take your time and there will be no blood. Once installed, the blade spins nicely, it is very well-balanced and it is really cool to see such a long blade spin to such a fine point. The blade cuts nicely. I am using the blade on my CNC to engrave into soft wood. In an abundance of caution, I have been using a slower feed speed to ensure that there is not too much pressure put on the tip of this blade since it is so thin. This has been used to give some fine details to a couple of relief carves now and has done very well. I am very happy with this bit. ... show more
