When I finally saw this shade upon searching for “jelly nail polish” I didn’t know the brand Cirque Colors but I was so hopeful it would hit the mark… and it did. Marsala Jelly starts as a sheer, nude pink, perfect for a French manicure. It’s buildable to the most beautiful, deep, merlot pink. I had a top coat handy but actually didn’t need it! I was looking for a tinted polish and so far this is perfect. You can get more color with more coats. I don’t think it’s gel, the directions are like normal polish. I like the slightly pinkish color, and the glossiness, and plan to try the other shades. I haven’t tried to remove it yet so will update review if any problems. Update-lasts pretty long, at least 5 or so days without any major chipping (with a top coat) & no issues removing with normal polish remover. ... show more

Update: I repurchased in Marsala jelly and oh my god I love this color! It’s a gorgeous rose red type of color. It looks fantastic on my cool toned skin! I also love the sheerness. Very unique and has gotten me a lot of compliments! This one is for cool/neutral toned polish people! It’s almost like a your-nails-but-better look! I used a sally hensen top/bottom coat followed by 2 coats of peach jelly. It’s very sheer and reminds me of a French nail polish. I’m going to try rose jelly next! My only complaint is that the peach is more of a coral with a definite warm tone. I’m cool toned and should’ve known better. ... show more

I ordered this product after a recommendation from a member of a nail polish group on Facebook. I typically use these brands: Ella + Mia, Olive and June, Essie, Essie Expressie, and OPI. I was very satisfied with this polish from Cirque Colors. It arrived intact, was clearly packaged carefully (if not lovingly!), and was exactly as depicted in the photos here on Amazon. The color is buildable, so you must be careful to use the exact same number of coats on each finger or it will appear is if you have used a different color. It is a lovely sheer jelly, exactly what I wanted and expected based on the photos. The brush is nice and of high quality. I paid $12.00 which is exactly what it costs on Cirque's website, only since I had Prime the shipping was free. It took about four or five days to make its way from New York to Ohio. The polish went on smoothly and had great staying power, but as with all sheers, your skin tone has a huge affect on the final color. The Rose jelly looked more like a warm nude and the Marsala was similarly warm toned in the bottle. Alas, when applied they looked nothing like I expected. Obsessed with every single cirque jelly I've bought—dove, aqua, navy, and rose. Great formula, super smooth, non-streaky. Straight up stunners. But I'm taking a star off because Cirque is the only brand that consistently seals itself shut!!! I'm not messy and other polishes don't do it, but even a brand new bottle can seal after first use? I don't get it and it makes me sad lol. My burly dude can usually open them, but on my own I am SOL. ... show more

I buy everything on Amazon and never write reviews on anything. For me this is pricey for a nail polish because it never lasts a day without chipping. I bought this because I was in love with the jelly look and have been too busy to go to the nail salon. I’m a freak about constantly washing my hands, do all the yard work at our house and am bad about picking at my polish. I usually go get dip nails at a salon, it’s the only thing that has ever held up. Until now. This polish is beautiful and DOES NOT BUDGE. Just buy it. I was very disappointed with my purchase of the color Gumdrop. The description and picture indicated light turquoise-mint and I received this very flat blue with no hint of green whatsoever. The formula is not self leveling and is very streaky. It takes a long time to dry even after using a fast dry topcoat (Seche Vite).
