  • Small and cheap but works.
Set up is very easy. There's not stop feature on movement so when retracting the claw it goes to the top and you could keep pulling it up, which I bet would wreck the motor. I'd watch for that. It works and comes with some little stuffed toys. I don't like the size of it. The Height is fine but it could be a longer bit bigger. Going forward or backwards is like going no where because it's small. I bought it for $20 so it's not bad. I wouldn't pay $40 for this. ... show more

  • Such a fun toy for parties!
This is such a fun claw machine! Keep in mind that this is a toy, not a professional quality toy machine, but for a toy it's pretty neat! It was fairly easy to put together, although the instructions were a little confusing, but I managed to do it in a fairly short amount of time! I do wish the stickers came pre-applied, because I am a perfectionist and one of the stickers is 3 stickers layered on each other, and I couldn't get it quite perfect, but it was easy enough to figure out! The top has a little door so you can drop in prizes, and it comes with 5 little stuffed toys as well as coins to start the machine up. The door on top is quite small, I am able to squeeze my hand through if I need to move toys around or get any toys out, but it is a TIGHT squeeze. My hands aren't tiny, but a man's larger hand would have no chance. You also will want to make sure the claw is all the way to the front right when you put toys in, or else the claw or the cords for the claw might be in the way of the door. It's kind of a weird design, but probably necessary with how small the machine is. The machine is super light weight, which is nice! The claw is a good size, but not very strong. We were able to fill our machine with small party favors, and as long as they were about the same size as the toys the machine came with, the claw was able to grab them with no problems! Any larger, or pieces with tiny long parts (a sucker for example) and the claw just wasn't strong enough to grip them. I was surprised however at how well it worked with small party favor toys, I have never had a round where I just wasn't able to get anything in 60 seconds (unlike a real claw machine, so that's a bonus!!) I like that the volume has a few settings including turning it all the way off so the only sounds that play are the starting noise and the "congratulations" noise when a toy drops through the prize hole. Turning the music off will be handy at an already noisy party. The control panel is small, but good for small hands. I am able to control it just fine as an adult, but they are just a little larger than a joystick on an Xbox controller. The machine can be powered either with batteries or a power cord, which is super handy! It gives you 60 seconds to grab a toy and drop it through the prize box, and then a sensor senses the toy coming through and stopping the clock as well as shutting off the claw. The sensor isn't super sensitive however, so often times the toy doesn't register and the claw is still powered for the remainder of the 60 seconds - especially with the smaller party favor toys, but sometimes even with the plush toys it comes with. We'll just let the kids get as many toys as the machine lets them, but you can stick your hand in and set off the sensor manually if needed. The one thing that really drives me nuts is that the claw doesn't reach all the way to the sides or back of the machine, so if a toy goes back there it's inaccessible unless you tip the machine so the claw swings back that way. It's light enough to do so easily, but it's a little annoying! Overall, this is a really decent quality for a toy claw machine, even with the little flaws. It will be a blast for the kids which is really what matters! ... show more

  • easier to assemble than directions make it appear, works with quarters
There are a few pieces, but it is relatively easy to assemble. The directions can seem overwhelming to look it, so separate the pieces into piles of what definitely has to go on first. For me, it was the green edges. The top was already assembled when I opened it, so that made things easier. The most difficult part was putting the top on it. Once I put it together, it was just a matter of plug and play. The cord is short so batteries might be easier or find a longer cord. I appreciate that the claw hangs on to the toys well so anyone can play with it and still win. The best part is that it works with quarters! It only comes with a few palm-sized stuffed toys so you may try to purchase more things to fill the machine with. I have yet to try using the claw to grab anything else. I'm hoping plastic Easter eggs will work so I can put prizes in them. ... show more

  • Cute
This is a cute idea! My nephew loves claw machines, so this was a big hit. It's not too difficult to operate, but it definitely takes a few tries to get the hang of it. Assembly was a bit frustrating for me, the directions were not very clear. I handed it over to my husband who did not read the instructions and he had it put together quickly. It is a bit cheap looking but it is a lot of fun. ... show more

  • Works better with quarters and a few quality issues.
Otherwise, it works pretty decently. The tokens that come with it are thick plastic (thicker than quarters) and will tend to jam up in the slot. It doesn't do any real coin detection other than *something* was inserted in the slot. If the slot is blocked for too long, the machine will shut down mid-play. (Solution? File the opening wider!) For this reason, quarters work best as they are thinner than the tokens and heavy enough to drop all the way to the tray. Assembly is pretty easy and it does come with a few mini plushy toys to toss in and give it a go. You CAN turn off the sound altogether or lower the volume... which is great! Powered via older micro USB in the rear and doesn't come with the wall wart nor a very long cable. I had trouble pushing in the top marquee sign enough to get it to click. Everything flexed a bit and I decided to stop before breaking it. You get 60 seconds of play for one coin or token and the claw works really, surprisingly well! ... show more

  • I wish that it was a little bit bigger.
We have tried a couple of these claw machines and they all work as they should. I just wish that this one (all of them actually) were a little bit bigger. It comes with its own toys to place in the machine. I have also added some other small items and things like candy, suckers, toy jewelry, etc. The kids all like them and they all have one of their own now. This one works as it should and they seem to have fun with them so I guess they are all a "kid approved" toy. ... show more

  • Lots of set up- lots of fun
This claw machine is a bit of a pain to set up as it has alot of little parts. But once it’s up, it’s actually really cool! You can put whatever little toys you want and keep changing it up. It comes with these fake coins to put in and get it going. Great for adults and kids. This would also be a good gimmick trick for a Christmas or holiday party. ... show more
