We were going to purchase a Pottery Barn bunk bed like this but at $4k it just wasn't feasible. This is a very reasonable alternative - we knew getting our little boy out of our bed would be a struggle unless we gave him something special (renovations had us cramped in one bed for over a year). So far he'll sleep until around 4am and wander back into our bedroom. This is a huge improvement from getting up every hour from a previous toddler bed. It's sturdy and looks great. Solid wood. I do wish the top bunk slats were more reinforced because I've broken enough softwood slats to get nervous. No more than 100lbs should go in the top bunk, excluding mattress.
