  • Wasn’t sure what to expect, but very happy with what I got!
Color: Black-Backlit
Okay, so I’m gonna start by pointing out what it was that I was looking for when I began to seek out a case/keyboard for my iPad. I have an iPad Pro, 12.9” 2020 generation. I got it to use for work, writing, and photo editing. I wasn’t looking for a trackpad, as I am quite comfortable using the touch screen. I needed something that would protect my device well, be simple to use, was decently priced, and would do what it is supposed to do well (in this case, act as a decent keyboard). After some time, I can say that I am very happy with this purchase. This is why... Connection: This was one of my concerns when I was seeking out a wireless keyboard. I’m a decently quick typist. If I am going strong, I can type around 70-71 words per minute. The average is around 40-42, so it’s safe to say I’m somewhat quicker than would be considered “normal.” One of my biggest pet peeves with keyboards and computers is key input lag. When I am in my groove, I can sometimes identify and begin to back up to correct a mistake before the computer recognizes and points it out. So it bugs me to no end when I am typing and the computer, or poor keyboard connection, is several words behind where I am. With this keyboard, I can say that keyboard lag has not reared it’s annoying head. This makes me a happy typist. In addition, the keyboard was very easy to pair. After pairing, all you need to do is turn the keyboard on and it will automatically connect (as long as your Bluetooth is activated on your iPad). Fit and protection: As I mentioned previously, I have an iPad Pro, 12.9” 2020 generation. This case/keyboard fit my iPad perfectly and I have had no issues at all. I don’t know exactly what the material is, but the piece that covers the iPad itself is a smooth, hard material. The “wrapping” is sturdy, but flexible in the right areas to allow for a comfortable fit around the iPad. This “wrapping” also has a little extra that will wrap around to magnetically seal the case. The extra bit also covers the camera, adding a nice little bit of protection that other cases don’t seem to offer (from what I have seen in my searching). The Apple Pencil fits perfectly, and now I don’t have to worry about looking for it in my bag when I need it! Regarding the Apple Pencil, I noticed that some people have been complaining that it is difficult to remove the pencil from its resting place. One thing I noticed was that there is a convenient hole placed behind the pencil in the hard casing that I mentioned previously. If you press your finger through this hole, the pencil will pop right out. Finally, I was also concerned about potential screen scratching or damage to the keyboard due to the keyboard sharing the case with my iPad. However, this was thought through in the design. The keys are sunk in to the keyboard, allowing protection for the various keys. There are also four rubber nubs, for lack of a better term, that keep your iPad comfortably rested without making too much contact with the keyboard. This was nice in my opinion, as I was not wanting to change my screen protector every several months because of scratching. Versatility: Something important that I needed for my iPad was the ability to move my keyboard. I often use my iPad as my kindle or notebook (utilizing my Apple Pencil). As such, it was important for me to be able to move the keyboard away when necessary. This case allows for that and I can easily fold the excess flexible bits behind, allowing for use of my iPad in a vertical or horizontal position. Price: When seeking out a case, I was not wanting to breach three digits. I figured, if I can’t find something below three digits, I might as well go all in and get a Magic Keyboard or Apple Folio Keyboard. This keyboard was well priced and I feel that I got plenty for my money, from design to safety to functionality. I’d never heard of the brand before, but after this purchase, I would at least consider their other products in the future. I’ll keep my eye out. Design: Finally, design. I love the way the case looks. The backlights are wonderful; pleasing to the eye and very useful in the dark. I am currently writing this review in a very dark room and the backlights do the job wonderfully. The keys don’t feel so small that it makes typing difficult. There are additional shortcut buttons as well, yet the keyboard doesn’t really feel cramped at all. My hands rest comfortably on the home row and I am extending my fingers to each key about as much as I would for a laptop or desktop keyboard. The weight of my iPad in the case with the keyboard is at least doubled. I haven’t weighed it or anything, but the increase in weight is noticeable. That being said, the weight increase isn’t overwhelming. It is also kind of expected considering the quality of the protective casing and the addition of the keyboard. If I were really picky, I could list this as a “con,” but I don’t really mind at all. Battery: I’m not gonna comment on this as I haven’t had the keyboard long enough to need to recharge. That being said, after looking though reviews, it seems to be the consensus that the battery life is somewhere around 80+ hours. So there’s that. ... show more

  • Better than Apple’s Magic Keyboard
Color: Black-Backlit
BUY NOW! This keyboard was everything I needed. The number one benefit is the price. Apple’s magic keyboard is about $130, so this keyboard in comparison is a better bang for your buck. Upon receiving the keyboard, I did have a minor issue with one of the keys coming off and not staying on, so I messaged the support team and they got back to me very quickly and resolved my issue by sending a replacement which I received very quickly as well. I was surprised at how helpful and responsive the support team was. I love the LED backlighting because it makes it easy to see the keys, its a very nice addition to the keyboard, since the magic keyboard does not have LED lighting, so typing in the dark is very difficult with Apple’s keyboard. Getting the keyboard connected was also easy, just follow the instructions. I like how you can use the case without the keyboard if you choose to. The keys feel and type just like a normal computer. The keyboard is also very sturdy and offers great protection. Works well with a screen protector. The charge lasts pretty long, can hold charge for up to about a week if you have heavy use like me. I just charge it whenever I remember to. I love the 12 month extended warranty that this product offers, which is why I was able to get a replacement. I will not go back to the magic keyboard. The LED lights are BEAUTIFUL! And you can have 3 different colors showing at once, which is something you don’t find very often. Don’t waste your money on an expensive keyboard! This is it! ... show more

  • Durable case and easy to use keyboard
Color: Black-Backlit
I originally purchased this for my wife when she received her 3rd Gen iPad Pro. She liked the idea of a case and having a keyboard as well. As this is two items, I will review separately: Case: I am very pleased with the case and it's apparent durability. The iPad was fairly easy to insert into the case and feels pretty secure in that it won't slip back out. The case folds over easily and does not show any weakening in the fold creases like many other cases start to after a few uses. Even though this case only fits the 3rd gen iPad (2018), there are slots in the case for 1st gen Apple pencil. This is okay as the 2nd Gen pencil easily fits securely into this slot for storage. Note: The pencil will not charge in this location. There is an indent at the top of the case and the pencil will easily sit there and charge. The magnetic strength of through the case is pretty strong and the pencil will not fall off on its own. Finally, as mentioned, the case does not have an auto-sleep ability to put the iPad to sleep when closed. This will need to be set up manually with the System Settings but is fairly easy to do and does not in any way take away from the other features of the case. Keyboard: I was kind of surprised with the keyboard when we first received it. It seems more durable than other mobile keyboards I have previously used and cost way more. The keyboard is a QWERTY keyboard and easy to use, even for those not tech savvy. There are 3 sections for lighting and each one can be set to the same or different colors. As noted in the description, the keyboard uses Bluetooth v3.0. This is not the latest but should be sufficient for most people and delays will be barely noticeable unless you are typing over 100wpm. I state this because of the negative reviews I saw in regards to this and want to clarify that most people will barely notice, if at all, any delay when typing. Initial connection was quick and easy and, like the lights, the keys are clearly marked for the purpose. The only negative thing I can say about the keyboard is the instructions may not be clear enough and are pretty basic. This will be okay for most people, but if you are not familiar with pairing devices or function keys, there may be some confusion. Overall: I am extremely pleased with the quality and value of the case and keyboard. I have been in the IT industry for over 20 years, so this can sometimes be hard to do. If you are looking for a nice, durable, and easy to use case/keyboard combo but do not want to spend a ton of money for similar products, I would highly recommend this one. In fact, I ended up purchasing a second one for my new iPad. ... show more
