  • Great pizza
Size: 13" x 15" x 4" Color: Midnight
Once you find a dough recipe you like, this was a fun way to make pizzas. It makes a small pizza. Great for 2-3 people. Love that in the HOT summer months I don't have to turn the oven on... This warms up and cools the pizza and the dough. Ours turned out a crunchy on the bottom of the pizza but we were happy with our first try. Dough and altitude, like any baking and cooking, plays a role. Enjoy using this simple appliance. ... show more

  • Just shy of awesome
Size: 13" x 15" x 4" Color: Midnight
I have a son who loves frozen pizzas. As summer approaches, I was looking for an option to keep him from heating up the whole kitchen. When I saw this, it was a no-brainer. It's a beautiful piece. The charcoal black finish is pretty and it stands up with the cord wrapped around the base cord holder to minimize counter clutter. Inside it's far deeper than I had expected. I thought it would be more of a press, but really, you can do rising-crust pizza without squishing it. If you were looking for a panini maker, this is not the cooker you're looking for. It can't squeeze anything. Heating is even and quick. I did quesadillas taking cold tortillas, fillings and cheese to way too hot to bite into in just 8 minutes. The tortillas were golden and crispy, and there was little residual heat in the kitchen. The instructions state that parchment is your best friend in this cooker. Since I knew I was going to be assembling the street taco-sized tortillas with their fillings, I made a template with parchment paper for the bottom of the cooker, leaving longer strips at the sides to easily transport the filled quesadillas into the cooker once it was preheated. Worked like a charm. Because it's nonstick, you'll need to only use silicone or plastic utensils in this cooker - no metal spatulas. Though I don't have either, the parchment made a spatula irrelevant. I just picked the whole parchment up from the cooker when the food was done. My concern that keeps this from getting five stars is the product's safety. First, there is no power button. If you want it on, plug it in. If you want it off, unplug it. I don't like fiddling with electric outlets at all, and making it mandatory to plug and unplug the cooker just seems unsafe. Second, there is no temperature control. At this price point, I expected more choice on temperature and an easy on/off switch. Third, the edges of the hot plates are exposed. They're very clear in the instructions that when opening and closing the cooker, one should use oven mitts but a little insulation would have made this a safer product. It does the job and looks good but a few tweaks are necessary to make it a great value at this price. ... show more

  • Makes the best pizza!
Size: 13" x 15" x 4" Color: Midnight
I usually use my pizza stone in the oven, and it does a decent job, but it really does a great job with my breads. The pizzas can be fickle. I wanted to see if this would make better pizzas. Well, just like I'm now a huge fan of air fryers, I'm also a fan of this pizza "oven". I don't have to heat up my entire oven which heats up the house. In the summer, that's almost unbearable. This gets the crust perfectly crispy all around and the toppings get cooked just right. I'm more than a little surprised that this can deliver such a good pizza! Pizza dough is so easy to make and whether or not you make your own sauce, putting a pizza together is so simple. This is absolutely my new favorite thing and I don't need to turn my kitchen into a sauna to have great pizza! I highly recommend this for anyone who loves pizza. You'll be making it all the time. ... show more

  • Aluminum platters don't hold heat well and don't distribute heat evenly. Works, but not well.
Size: 13" x 15" x 4" Color: Midnight
We eat our share of frozen pizzas, so when I saw this Everything Maker & Pizza Oven I looked forward to trying it out. Our first attempt was a hand-made pizza with our own dough. The result was overcooked crust on the bottom and undercooked toppings and top dough. There were also some dark brown areas on the crust bottom, yet lighter less-cooked areas on some areas. Overall, not our best pizza experience. Our next attempt with a frozen pizza. It fit into the pan perfectly and we were hopeful. But after cooking for bit, we started smelling the odor of crust starting to burn, so we inspected and found the bottom was starting to burn while the toppings still needed several more minutes. We let it go a minute longer but took it off before the crust burned too badly. This morning, we decided to try pancakes. I really wish the lid platter would fold down flat on its back to use both the top and bottom as pancake cookers, but the top cannot be folded down backwards. I had my infrared thermometer handy this time to confirm our experience with hot and cold spots. When I flipped the first pancake, there was a brown stripe that indicated the pattern of the underlying circular coil. I let the other pancakes go a bit longer before flipping, but they all had the tell-tale brown arc. I took some temperature readings that confirmed the large variation in temperatures across the whole cooking platter. It appears, from my tests, that there is a single circular coil that heats the bottom platter leaving it cooler in the middle, then very hot as you get a few inches away from the circumference edge, then cooler again at the outer circumference surface. We dubbed it the "ring-of-fire" and it explains why we experienced arc-shaped burn marks on both our pizzas and pancakes. To make matters worse, the platters are made of aluminum which heats quickly and cools quickly. It does not hold heat well, nor does it distribute the heat evenly like you would get from a cast iron platter. When you place a cold frozen pizza on the hot platter, it cools quickly in areas that aren't near the heating coil, and those areas cannot effectively recover that heat loss which results in uneven cooking. Overall, I like the concept because it's quick and simple to use along with its easy-to-clean non-stick platters. But in the end, the uneven heat prevents it from delivering a quality cook. ... show more
