I've been wanting to get a few games for my husband and I to play in the evening now that we will both be retired. He's not much for board games though but Checkers is one he'll play (he loves Chess but I'm not much of a match for him!) I didn't realize that this board is folded twice, in half like most cardboard Checker boards (long), and then in half again so that it's a square when completely folded. That caught me by surprise when I saw how small the outer box was for the game, but I'm certain I just didn't read it in the description (it was a Lightning Deal and I didn't spend a lot of time reading, it just looked nice), and I quickly realized that I really like this small format. The outer box is super sturdy and nice and the game will fit nicely on our bookshelf, either flat or on end. Time will tell how it holds up but for the price I think this is a nice Checker set. Now I need to get my husband to sit down and play a few games with me! ... show more

I’m giving it to an eight-year-old boy who loves puzzles, activity books, and tic-tac-toe so I did not open the box, but it came really well packaged in a beautiful box so hopefully everything‘s inside that is supposed to be there. I’m sure he will be really excited to receive it and start playing!
