  • the tires suck. I got a flat the first ride over ...
Seriously, the tires suck. I got a flat the first ride over a thorn. If you expect to be near ANY bush with thorns or anything remotely sharp, do not buy. It's otherwise pretty good except if you have less than 1 gallon of product, then the sprayers don't work. It gets the job done, and for the price it does ok-- just prepare for the crummy tires. ****update**** I had to drop this down to 1 star as the sprayer bit the dirt literally, when the tire assembly broke off the cheap plastic causing me to drag 25 gallons of weed killer on one wheel while tearing up my lawn. Since my last review, I have had to have Chapin send me two manifolds (the first one was incorrect). That part took 5 weeks, and then we called and they said it got lost. Then it showed and it was the wrong part. Upon calling them they said they guessed and clearly they sent us the wrong part. So 4 weeks later I get the right part but let me back up. The original part broke because it's made of cheap plastic and at the slightest bump it broke off. So yesterday was my first run of the season and of course the hose has lost it's seal among other small stupid things. The tire breaking off was my line in the sand. I understand not every product is going to be miraculous, and I tried to give this the benefit of the doubt even when they sent me the wrong part. But I can't anymore. I've used the thing maybe 5 times and each time had it's own issue. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. ... show more

  • Money saver for DIY lawncare
I fired my lawn care company because I was tired of paying for some guy spraying water on my lawn. I was paying $75.00 a visit for a not so great looking yard, complaining didn't help. Anyway, this sprayer is perfect behind my Cub Cadet lawn tractor. It is well made and the spray pattern with the 1 gpm nozzles. The liquid fertilizer cost about $12.00 an application and I am for once in my life certain my lawn is getting fertilized. The 25 gallon tank covers my almost 3/4 acre in 25 minutes. So I am spraying about a gallon a minute and timing it to cover my entire lawn. The yard looked great after one application. The sprayers pump works on demand so I set it up to maintain about 21 psi while spraying. The money saved will pay for the sprayer n my case after about 1 year of use or 6 applications. Plus it's fun and keeps me busy. I should have done this year's ago. Chapin's customer service is top notch. ... show more

  • Spend your money elsewhere.
Updated review: I have owned this sprayer since 2015. My experience has been anything but good. Each time I try to use it, I have to fix something that has gone wrong. The tank has a leak somewhere underneath. A tire has failed. Almost every hose/component connection has leaked or sprayed at least once. The boom does not securely attach and periodically fall off. My advice is to stay away from this one and spend your money on a better unit. In my opinion this one was engineered for max profit with total disregard for reliability. Generally met my expectations. Frame is sturdy and assembly was straightforward using the instruction manual. Fittings leaked everywhere so take care to test and tighten before using chemicals. Appears to be of good quality and works well. ... show more

  • Terrible tires!!
The sprayer itself works well enough, pressure is a tad bit low but it's usable. My main gripbis the tires are just horrid. The valve stems weren't sticking out far enough to inflate, also I got a flat after three uses. The tires are very fragile, I have tons of other equipment and used that stuff for years with no tire issues. I'll be trying to find a complete replacement for the tires. ... show more

  • No directions, No wiring diagram - Made it work.
UPDATE: With the help of other Amazon users, this thing is working well and has been very useful. My comment on the "its made for a riding lawnmower and not a ATV" still hold true. The sprayer arrived quickly, packaging was great. I put it together on the weekend, was easy to assemble in no time but there are basically no directions. The thing is this thing sits very low, they say its for ATV's, and it does attach to my ATV easily, however it is way lower then my atv so it does not tow evenly. While this is not a huge deal at first, you will find out when your backing up or going up hill there are numerous issues due to its substantially lower height. (I have a Polaris Sportsman® 400 H.O. ATV, this is a "normal" or even small ATV). While I did fill it up and tow it around, I did not get to spray with it because the pump has one red wire attached to what I assume is the right place, and one red wire with the same tip on it not plugged in anywhere. Their is no obvious place on the pump to plug this in, there is no other related wiring harness or components that it would fit into either. Since their is zero information on the pump, much less a wiring diagram (or directions for that matter). The pump is a Delevan PowerFlo Model 7822-201 and even when searching the internet I have come up empty. The Chapin 97700 12-volt EZ Tow Dripless Sprayer, 25-Gallon is good quality equipment, but I think its actually designed to be towed behind a riding lawn mower not an ATV regardless of what they say. I will have to spend the next few weekends messing around with the pump just to try and get it to do what it should have done out of the box, and that is a real pain in the butt. I will try to update this post once I figure out how actually make the sprayer work. ... show more
