    • Gets the job done
I've lived in the country my whole life, so I've had on quite a few backpack sprayers in my time. This one is pretty good. It isn't perfect, but it will certainly get the job done. While I got it for free to try, the price is good for what you get (at the time of writing, the price was reduced to $58 from the usual $80). The spray is smooth and consistent. The pump works well, and I like the ones that let you switch sides. My issue is just the comfortability. The straps are nothing special and it feels a bit hard against the back. Granted, I am tall and boney, so maybe it is just my curse, but it could definitely use some extra padding between the user and the backpack. ... show more

I had gotten one of these from Harbor Freight a year or so ago. Of course, is a different brand but a similar product. This one is far superior. Overall it just seems better made. The other one just seemed a lot cheaper and things would leak and come off or loosen, but so far this one has seen a whole lot more sturdy. The pump works great and is nice it fits on your back well and as easy to use. The spray nozzles work perfectly with all kinds of herbicides and it's just a joy to use.     • Great sprayer for herbicides and liquid fertilizers
I've had other Chapin sprayers before and they have always worked as they should. I've used this 4gal backpack sprayer many times already for both pre-emergents and fertilizers. The sprayer worked as expected. Easy to pump (don't over pump/pressurize) and maintains the pressure very well. Seals are working great. The wand is easy to use and is flexible. Even though the flexible wands can become deformed when left in the sun during summer and in a bent position. The flexible wands take more abuse. The tank is easy to see liquid level, and is thick. The spray nozzles are standard size so easy to replace. Overall a very good sprayer that will last years if taken care of. Make sure to clean out when storing. ... show more
