Description

The Champion Power Equipment 201223 4000-Watt Tri-Fuel Portable Natural Gas Ready Generator with CO Shield® is a reliable source of power with the flexibility you need. When you are not running your generator on natural gas, you also have the option of operating it on gasoline or propane. The ability to operate your generator on three types of fuel out of the box makes this one of the most versatile generators on the market. The Fuel Select dial allows you to safely select gasoline, propane (LPG), or natural gas (NG) as your fuel source. Using gasoline, the 224cc Champion engine produces 5000 starting watts and 4000 running watts, and will run for 14 hours at 50% load when the 5-gallon fuel tank is full. When using a 20-pound propane tank, it produces 4500 starting watts and 3600 running watts, and will run for 10.5 hours at 50% load. Using natural gas, the engine produces 4050 starting watts and 3240 running watts. To connect this generator to your home’s natural gas source, this generator includes a 25-foot NG hose kit, which includes a female quick connect end, a female flare fitting end and an NPT male adapter. The electric start includes a battery, plus Cold Start Technology ensures quick cold- weather starts. With a 0.6-quart oil capacity, this unit has a low oil shut- off sensor and includes engine oil – all you need is fuel! Easily monitor power output and track maintenance intervals with Intelligauge, which allows you to keep track of voltage, frequency, session run time, and total run time to easily monitor output and track maintenance intervals. This generator has a noise level of 68 dBA from 23 feet, which is a bit louder than a vacuum. The covered outlets include a 120V 30A locking outlet (L5-30R), a 120V 30A RV outlet (TT-30R) and a 120V 20A duplex household outlet (5-20R). Buy this EPA certified generator with confidence – Champion Support and our nationwide network of service centers will back up your purchase with a 3-year limited warranty and FREE lifetime technical support. CO Shield® technology monitors the accumulation of carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas produced by engine exhaust when the generator is running. If CO Shield® detects unsafe elevated levels of CO gas, it automatically shuts off the engine. CO Shield® is not a substitute for an indoor carbon monoxide alarm or for safe operation. DO NOT allow engine exhaust fumes to enter a confined area through windows, doors, vents or other openings. Generators must ALWAYS be used outdoors, far away from occupied buildings with engine exhaust pointed away from people and buildings. Meets the requirements of ANSI/PGMA G300-2018.

  • Works better than expected
Style: 5000/4000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric Sta...
I love the option of using three separate fuel choices. The electric starter works every time. I live over 5,000’ asl and needed a different sized jet. The part number from the manual was not available on the Champion website, but an email to the customer support resulted in the correct part shipped to me at no charge. I appreciate knowing they have my back. This is my third Champion generator. I still have my second one and have used it for twelve years now and it still starts with the first pull every time. ... show more

  • appears to be just what i needed

Easy set up - connected to Natural Gas line ... think i'll be very happy with this - Houston's bound to have another power outage sometime! I have it set up close to the house ... with intent of moving out when needed. Gas line was run from attic down the side of fireplace wall. Cover is on it and i have a small piece of painted plywood on to of it with a plant on top ... looks nice and blends right in ... show more

  • Great for the price and size

In my current neighborhood, it isn't practical to have a permanent generator next to the house. The Generac I have had in my prior home has to activate weekly for testing and it makes a lot of noise. I am using this one for emergencies. I have a portable battery backup/inverter for the house (Bluetti) that can power part of my house for about 6 hours. If I need backup longer than that, I can power this up and plug the inverter into this so that it is charging (or recharging) and feeding the house at the same time. It is noisy, but I am only going to use it for emergencies. Portable is also a great solution for me as we have a motorhome as well. Assembly was easy and it has worked on natural gas on the first try. ... show more

  • Loud as a jet plane. DO NOT BUY FOR CAMPING. NON RETURNABLE FYI.
Style: 5000/4000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric Sta...
Bought for of grid camping trips. 68 decibels is an absolute lie. 95 degree temps and wanted to be able to run my AC. Started my generator using propane and every other camper spot came over to tell me to turn it off. So now my kids are extremely hot and my wife is more than upset. False advertising…. I don’t do negative reviews, but “normal conversation” is 68 decibels and at 23’ (as add states) from the generator is a lie. Also why 23’, I want to know how loud the generator is when it’s in my camp site and next to my trailer. I have a 9500w champion generator as a backup power unit for my house and absolutely love it with no issues, it’s loud but that’s not an issue as it’s used for emergency power outages only. I bought this new generator for off grid camping in the Pacific Northwest, and it unable to its jet engine noise.🚀👎🏻 ... show more

  • Exactly what we needed and works perfectly.
Style: 5000/4000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric Sta...
Knowing the vulnerability of the Texas power grid and that 25 named storms are predicted this year, I bought this to replace my old gasoline generator I bought in '08 during Ike. The deciding factor was the natural gas fuel option, so I needn't go in search of gasoline or propane. Then 2 weeks later Beryl came thru town [Houston], and I had staged the gen on my back patio [where there's a nat gas tap for a BBG grill. When our power went out at 4AM I went out back and cranked it up [battery start]. It purred like a kitten until our Power returned. I also bought a portable AC, so we were comfy and cool, with TV, fridges powered up, even got the Internet gear powered up- Although Xfinity was down. So we're fixed for the next power outage[s]. ... show more

I bought this generator before a hurricane hit my area recently. It was delivered faster than they'd initially said. It ran my portable air conditioner, a large fan, small refrigerator, 2 lamps, plus charged my phone & my neighbors electric wheelchair. Quieter than I thought & worked as expected. Generator Tip: Do not use high octane gasoline. A generators combustion works better on regular octane. ... show more
