  • Compact and reasonably price for recharging house batteries
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
I live pretty far from the grid, and frequently lose power each year but typically not more than a day. I got this to recharge my Anker F3800s when an outage exceeds two days. I basically use the F3800 and Solix Home Power Panel as a house UPS. It lets me recharge them on propane at their full 1800W recharge rate if they deplete before the grid comes back online. There was a couple extra bolts & nuts in the shipping container that was not identified as being included/required, but after going through the assembly with a fine tooth comb I couldn't find any missing hardware so fingers crossed it doesn't fall apart. Otherwise it assembled easily enough and once the nearly dead battery was recharged, it fired right up on propane and now sits ready for the next major outage. I did add a maintainer connection to the battery to make sure that it's always ready. ... show more

  • Has been working well for 2 outages in last 3 months in Houston
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
It has been performing well. Easy to start, and I have run it on both gas & propane with no issue. It uses about 5 gal. of gas per day. I really appreciate the electric start. My one minor complaint is that it states the oil capacity as 0.6 qt. which is exactly what was included, but I wound up with a lot of oil spilling out. It does use some oil during use, so I echo the recommendation of checking it every 8 hours. I wish the oil filler was easier to access, and more important, easier to check the level. It does seem loud, but no worse than the ancient one it replaced. I don't have any other comparison. ... show more

  • Awesome Generator!!
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
I've had this almost a year and hadn't even started it. Thanks to hurricane Helene I finally had to start it up. It didn't disappoint! Ran great with no problems. My power was out almost 2 weeks and this thing rocks!! Highly recommend. The only con against it is it doesn't have a 240 volt plug. Would definitely purchase again if I needed another but I expect this will last me a long time. When storing for extended periods be sure to drain the gas and let it run till the carburetor is empty. ... show more

  • Fired up and powers on!
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
I was worried it might be DOA or a lemon. It started, powers equipment, and is a slick looking generator. An issue I have with it is the oil dipstick is difficult to get to and turn to change oil. I literally almost have to lie on the ground to get to it. Also, every time I fill the oil (oil capacity 600ml/20.3oz.) it eventually overflows and pours onto the ground. This also happened with the initial oil fill with the 600ml bottle that came with the generator. The second time we measured exactly 600ml. Again, the oil pours out as if it is overfilled. The generator is on a flat surface so that is not a factor. it is not being over filled so this should not occur. I can only assume poor design that allows an air pocket to get trapped in the oil reservoir that doesn't get displaced by oil when filling, causing oil to pour out instead. It does have a great Screen Display which alternately displays 4 different details, one being hours used. Another is volts and the other is Amps being pulled. This is helpful in determining starting and running watts of an appliance that might be attached and can help prevent overloading the generator. It looks great and seems well built. Except for the oil capacity issue, I think it is a good buy. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have passed on this and bought a different generator. ... show more

  • Jury is out- edited
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
First impressions were good. Unit was easy to set up. To add or drain oil you will need to literally lie on the ground to do so. For some that may be an issue and at 120 pounds just lifting it up on to a workbench likely not possible for 1 person. Then I noticed the front face plate had damage (see photos). The box did not arrive in a damaged state that would suggest it had occurred during shipping. I have contacted customer support and will update with how that works out. **excellent customer service, received replies to my emails in less the 24 hours, they will be shipping the replacement for the damaged part, very pleased with their quick resolving of the problem**I ran it for the 1st hour as part of the break in period and the clock showed 3 hours. Now perhaps it is ran for a couple of hours as part of the quality control process but I will watch that closely to see if it is accurate. Ran it for a 2nd hour after changing the oil and the unit was surging at idle now. Most common cause is a partial blockage of the idle jet in the carburetor- not something one would expect after less than 2 hours of operation. **added some mechanic in a bottle and the surging is no longer a problem and the unit has been running perfectly** Hoping these issues are resolved quickly and without hassle. Unit does appear well constructed and fired right up- but can go either way with if I could recommend this brand/model. **needed to email champion again on when the replacement part would arrive (mid January)- never received a reply but the part arrived a week later. Not perfect but they did do what they said they would** ... show more

  • Very powerful and not too loud.
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
This is a little bigger than my old iGen 4500; it is more efficient, but not as quiet. Placed a 300 gal water tote near the door under the house. It deflects/ blocks noise from my window so noise isn't an issue.

  • I do not recommend this one
Style: 4750/3800-Watt + Dual Fuel + Electric Start
This generator has not been impressive since the day I started it. It is ok for small non electronic devices, however it's horrible for anything with a motor and has electronics. The rpm jumps up and down with total dirty power. Now I've tolerated a lot of let's downs with this purchase until last night. The exhaust snapped and fell off. I just have had enough and purchased another small inverter. *I have a larger champion that runs amazing but this model is horrible ... show more
