The Champion Power Equipment 100485 9200-Watt Portable Generator delivers peace of mind plus all the backup you need for emergencies. The 459cc Champion single-cylinder OHV engine has what it takes to handle any size project. EFI technology ensures peak engine efficiency resulting in up to 25% savings on fuel. EFI allows optimal performance at all temperatures and altitudes, plus the carburetor-free design eliminates bad fuel issues and gum-ups. CO Shield® Technology shuts off the generator automatically before harmful levels of carbon monoxide can accumulate. This unit meets the ANSI/PGMA G300-2018 requirements to ensure the highest level of safety and performance. Came well packaged and simple to set up, filled with oil and gas and started right up. Ran generator break-in time and changed oil per recommendations. So far it has ran for about 15 hours due to power outages, starts up easy every time and powers the whole house.     • Generator won't start
The item will start, the oil is installed per the directions, and fresh rec gas, non-E fuel, tried starting for over 3 hours, but had to recharge the battery several times, gave up, and contacted Amazon for a return. I'm an 83 years old disabled vet and have no way of working on it, all done.

    • I would recommend
The product itself is excellent. Great output, great starting, reliable and high output. The delivery guys were good, however, it did arrive with cracks in the plastic where the controls and switches are. The recoil starter was banged up and wouldn’t rotate due to the bent housing. This was handled rough in shipping. Champion sent me replacements for the damaged parts that I felt needed work. Run high octane and stabilizer in these and you will have reliable starts. Don’t leave fuel in it if you are leaving it longterm unused. You can quickly and cleanly drain all the fuel from the tank on this model. I keep mine topped with 93 octane + long term (not performance based) stabilizer, and the battery stays plugged in to the battery charger that comes with it. Fuel injected is the way to go. Propane, the output is low and you need big tanks and they still have their own mess of starting problems, so consider this. One more thing, you have to alter the grounding on this in order to hook up to a house, champion does provide the instructions online and it is very easy. Also, you need to have provisions on your home electrical system to not send the power from your gen, back in to the grid and potentially kill the lineman repairing it. Anddddd… you need to have a solid grounding rod to ground to that is driven deep in the ground. Buying a $1000-1500 portable gen is not the majority of the cost associated with a backup gen. Consider all of these things. This is an excellent portable gen, and that’s what I’d recommend it for. Truth: this will not everything in your entire house all the time. Nor do you have the adequate amount of gas on hand to run everything in your house for any reasonable amount of time. So, don’t try and do that. Use common sense. ... show more

    • Won’t start / Second Unit works great
After receiving the new generator, I unboxed it and followed the guide precisely to begin the break-in. Unfortunately, the engine won’t even start. Fresh fuel, full of oil, checked electrical connections. Engine turns, it simply won’t start. I believe it’s a fuel injector issue. I’ve called Champion support and at this point they are deciding what to do. I’ll update this review as I progress though support with Champion. Update: Champion support really was great. Unfortunately the generator needed a new fuel injector and Amazon wouldn’t take the generator back so it was a total loss. I ended up ordering another one just like it and it works perfectly. ... show more

    • WARRANTY NOT HONORED
Purchased one through Menards, defective, would kind of choke and shut off when tryed to run a small compressor. Contacted Champion for warranty and a refund or replacement. They said they would not refund or replace because I did not purchase it directly from them. So no warranty on it.
