It offers electric start, an included natural gas hose, and the ease of setup and use is frequently praised. Though a bit loud, as generators tend to be, the machine operates effectively across its different fuel options – natural gas, propane, and gasoline – ensuring that some form of power will be available when needed.

  • πŸ›  Easy to set up with clear instructions
  • πŸ’ͺ Sturdy build and appears well-made
  • πŸ”‹ Electric start functionality for ease of use
  • 🏷 Good value especially with the inclusion of a natural gas hose

Should I Buy It?

If you're in need of a sturdy, versatile generator capable of running on three types of fuel, this seems to be an excellent choice. It is especially suitable for those anticipating emergencies where power options may be limited. Factor in its ease of installation and use, and it's a solid investment for assured power supply, provided the inherent noise and weight issues of generators are not a deal-breaker for you.

  • A true insurance policy - Gas, Propane, Natural Gas - something's going to be available.
Style: 10,000/8000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric S...
I've been watching this item for a long time, but with the recent sale price and sales tax holiday in FL, it was time to pull the trigger. With the triple fuel options, it seems like a great option for emergency use. I've been through a few outages associated with hurricanes, and natural gas service has never been interrupted so I really wanted that option. Delivery was on time and arrived in a box. There was no pallet to deal with. Putting on the wheels was easy, but cumbersome when doing it alone, a lot of weight to deal with. The included natural gas hose added value, as did the propane hose with regulator and the necessary oil. My plan is natural gas only over the lifetime. It seems like a well-made machine. Nothing felt cheap or flimsy. Instructions are clear. I plumbed a natural gas line off of an available 1/2": pipe, added the required shut off, and added a quick connect at the end. Now the hose will quick connect at both ends. I'm sure much to my neighbor's delight, I ran the generator for 5 hours over two days and varied the load just as the instructions required. It fired up easy and ran great. It's loud, but hey, it's a generator, no louder than another. After 5 hours I changed the oil. They made that easy as well. I also purchased a transfer switch and interlock kit. At 7000 watts on natural gas, this thing isn't going to run my central air, but it should run most everything else, if I manage it. I plan to turn off all double breakers, (2 AC compressors, 2 air handlers, Pool) and with a transfer switch, I will have everything else available to me versus being limited by a generator sub panel. I had an electrician out today to put in the transfer and interlock and we gave it a test fire. I came in from outside and the lights and fans were on. So far so good. Now, with the great sale price value, and complete install, comes the weird part. I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO USE IT! ... show more

  • Great generator
Style: 10,000/8000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric S...
Manual and support are fantastic. Had to run down a 30 amp 120 volt plug and make a cord just to power up the fridge. Doesn’t seem right. 20 amp outlet popped the breaker. Easy oil change. Seems pretty loud. Got us through 3 days of Helene supplied darkness. Natural gas option was priceless.

  • Tri Fuel Generator - Great Idea!
Style: 10,000/8000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric S...
I have had a portable Champion gasoline fueled generator for several years and was very impressed with their quality. The only drawback was every time I needed to use the generator, I had to be prepared with a lot of stored gasoline and/or try to find a gas station that had power to pump gas. Neither was desirable. So, when I found that Tri fuel portable generators were coming out I waited and did some research on them. There are other brands out there, but Champion had consistently high reviews, Plus, my previous experience with on older one convinced me to stay with Champion. Pleasently surprised that my new one was more powerful and yet more compact than the previous one! One warning: If you are going to use a quick connect fitting for your supply line hose, you will need to get your own adapter fitting from a gas supply store. The threaded end that fits in the hose from the generator is 1/2" diameter and the male end is for 3/8" supply line. Just follow the instructions provided for operation. I used the provide oil for the 5-hour break-in period and then changed to a full synthetic oil (5W-30). Like my old one, I will be running it once a month for about 30 minutes just to keeps things well lubed. Most trouble occurs when they sit a long time without running periodically. Oh, I forgot to mention how nice it is to have battery start function instead of having to use a pull cord (even though you have one, if needed). I cannot speak for longevity yet, as it is still new. I will update if there are issues later. I use Natural Gas for mine. ... show more

  • Great Generator, But That Carbon Sensor is a True Headache
Style: 10,000/8000-Watt + Tri-Fuel + Electric S...
So oddly enough, I received this generator last week and we had a major storm come through this week. I'm in the latter half of the 2nd day without power. I LOVE the auto start and was shocked how easy it first started up. I am using gas, so getting to use all the power, as other sources don't go quite as high (Gasoline watts = 8000, Propane watts = 7200, Natural Gas watts = 7000). We've been powering a couple freezers, a fridge, all our electronics (including several computers, monitors, phones, ipads, mobile phone batteries, etc), lighting in several rooms and whatever else I have needed. Basically, I've used it for everything except the central air and my stove. A full tank seems to run me about 8 hours. The BIGGEST HEADACHE, is the carbon sensor. Everyone in my neighborhood has a generator running right now. I've been quite jealous, as there's all run through the night. This one stops every 90 minutes to 2 hours, like it's on a timer. Why? The Carbon Sensor! The blinking red light confirms this with every shut off. Here's the think though.. My generator is sitting far away from my house and there's nothing around it. What happens (seemingly) is that a breeze blows the wrong way and it gets a whiff of it's own emission.. and shuts down. Gets crazy frustrating after a while. I see I'm not alone in this frustration. I noticed a gentleman on YouTube shows how he rewired it to bypass the sensor because of the issue bothering him so much (I'm not advocating this, just pointing out that's it's clearly an issue that is frustrating more than just myself). I have tried shifting the generator in every direction, to let the wind carry the carbon in the right place. The problem is that there's no wind at all right now. It's just the dead heat of summer, so naturally, some of this will occasionally just stay in place. I've considered bringing a fan down and just putting it on the generator, to keep it blowing the exhaust far away but my utilities company is outside working on my lines right now so I don't think I'll have to worry about this much longer (and it's kind of ridiculous that I should have to do this to get a normal functioning generator). Instead, I have a strong "Plan B" in mind, to permanently fix this issue, after things are back to normal. Outside of this problem, it's a great generator. It's got a lot of power and it's getting the job done. It's not as hard to move as I anticipated either. Rolled it down my dirt hill to the back of my house by myself, with little trouble. Also appreciated the propane/natural gas hoses. Got this baby for only $937 on Prime Day, so I do consider it a score. I'm just going to have to work with it a bit to make it perfect. ... show more
