An ideal companion for your next weekend project or wherever you might need additional power, this generator can also provide plenty of backup power for your home during an outage. Operate your Dual-Fuel generator right out of the box on gasoline or propane, and easily switch fuels with our patented fuel selector switch that allows for safe switching between fuel sources. Using gasoline, the 389cc Champion engine produces 6900 starting watts and 5500 running watts, and will run for 8 hours at 50% load when the 6.1-gallon fuel tank is full. When using a 20-pound propane tank, it produces 6250 starting watts and 5000 running watts, and will run for 6.5 hours at 50% load. Also included is a 3.3-foot propane hose with a built-in regulator. With a noise level of 74 dBA from 23 feet, which is a bit louder than a vacuum, this machine features Cold Start Technology to ensure a quick start in cold weather. The Volt Guard built-in surge protector prevents overloads and keeps your equipment safe from spikes in voltage, while the Intelligauge monitors voltage, frequency and operating hours. Outlets include one 120/240V 30A locking outlet (L14-30R) and four 120V 20A GFCI protected household outlets (5-20R). Starts easily (but see below for choke finessing), runs well, delivers power great. I was short a quart of oil and tried to run it without it, but it overheated after a while and shut itself down with no damage done. Went and bought another quart of oil and put it in, and after that it just ran and kept on running. So, if yours runs for a while and then stops, make sure you put in enough of the right kind of oil. They provide a handy oil chart in the instructions. The instructions say to put on 100% choke to start it and then ease it back once it's running well, but I found that it would not start with 100% choke. Setting the choke to 50% and then starting it works wonderfully. You might have to fiddle with the choke a bit to figure out how much choke is right for your conditions. The generator puts out 120V AC power, which is great if you're running extension cords. Even an 8% voltage drop means you're delivering 110V AC at the far end, which is fine for ordinary appliances. Use the thickest gauge extension cord you can get and use a voltage drop calculator (there are plenty online) and as long as your voltage drop is 8% or less, it will be fine. Ordered the first one March 11th 2023, just sat in the Madison process center for a week after expected delivery was supposed to be the 18th, got a replacement ordered the 23rd and now that one will be late as of today the 29th. It arrived 3/30/23. Pretty nice unit. Using it to power off grid cabin with a 220v mini split. Time will tell how it works. Making a sound box for it ... show more

I have a metal fence the previous owners neglected. Several metal poles had become detached. I needed 120V and 20A power to run the welder, and several fence sections were too far away from my outlets to weld. This generator handled it no problem and now my fence is sturdy and rust proofed. I also bought this in case the Texas power grid freezes again. I’m putting a reverse plug into my panel in November in order to run my appliances and the furnace fans that run off natural gas.
