I had a couple different kinds of blinds to put up, and I was really impressed by these - their ease of installation is top-notch. You only have to install two very small plastic supports (vertical top supports) and the blinds just click right in. You don't even have to get the two hangers at any specific point in the roof of the window frame - they just have to be equidistant from the edges to look nice. I have the dark grey ones and they are about 99% light blocking. The measurements are very accurate, so if you think you might have the space and you want to go ULTRA-BLACKOUT, you can probably add an extra quarter inch. I put mine up in a double set of windows, and I could have added an extra inch or inch and a half to cover the middle as well. They ARE basically paper, so they weigh nothing, but I was scared of the cats in the house at first, but they don't seem to mess with the shades. Super easy to pull up and down. They feel really high quality for paper and they look pretty nice. They just look a little dopey in the same room as nice bamboo blinds or other high-end window treatments. ... show more

2 days before guests arrived my husband announced we needed light blocking shades for the guest room. Luckily our windows are standard dimensions. Everything you need is in the box. Be sure to keep the wrapper that indicates the front and back of the blinds on the blinds until you install them. The mounts are easy to install and the blinds attach easily. It took about 20 minutes to install 2 blinds. You will need a drill and a ratchet screw driver saves wear and tear on your wrists. We got the white shades with blackout capability. The blackout fabric makes the blinds look grayish but that can't be helped. Overall, they look nice, work flawlessly and blocked the light very well. The left window has the shade pulled down. The picture was taken early evening when the sun is on the same side of the house as the windows. ... show more

Took about 20 minutes on 2 windows and most of that was just to drill. The outside is white but the inner shell was black, making it a good blackout shade.

These blinds are pretty nice. They slide up and down quite smoothly. Their dimensions are quite literal - meaning when they say 27”, they mean literally 27” vs cut for a 27” opening (some blinds are cut about 1/2” shorter on each side for clearance). Because of this, I ended up having to mount it high, but the brackets that come with it are nice & hold well. No other complaints. ... show more
