Larger than Ho scale ,smaller than O gauge, difficult to keep on the track.Fun ,it only uses two "AA" batteries. Not much power, pulling three cars ,might be OK for under your Christmas tree ,without cars. Our grandson loves these! I bought it because he was obsessed with bulldozers, and little bulldozers that are tracked are not so easy to find. Most of them are wheeled. Funny thing is, that once he got this set, he immediately gravitated to the dump truck, and it's hard to get it out of his hand. The plastic is pretty durable, and he's not one to put them into his mouth, so we're good there, so far. Nice yellow and black colors.
