  • Quality product
Color: Natural&white
After months of contemplation, I decided to order this island, and I do not regret it at all. I was pleased that the shipping was quick, considering it's large and heavy. It was packaged amazingly well, every part carefully wrapped and cushioned. The directions were very well done, large drawings and all the parts labeled. It only took me an hour to assemble it, and EVERY pre-drilled hole matched up. EVERY ONE! The drawer asssembled fine and works well. One tip I would suggest is to not tighten all the screws until you've matched up everything, THEN tighten them. Also, use the supplied hex key to assemble and not power tools. This isn't oak or hardwood. It's a nice looking unit and I feel the price is reasonable for what it is..... a production piece of furniture produced overseas. ... show more

  • Economical, versatile, beautiful
Color: Walnut&black
We bought the first of these islands in white with a light wood top. That one found a home in our laundry room. My laundry basket fits perfectly on the top shelf and there is space for other laundry-associated products on the bottom shelf. Mesh bags go in the drawer. The height is ideal for folding and stacking clothes. Next, after a search for a storage unit/TV console went on and on, I considered the "Island" again. In black with the walnut top, it looks great in our bedroom with space for games and DVDs on the shelves. This is a very versatile item; well-made, easy to assemble, no damage at all. We are very satisfied and the price is great, too. ... show more

  • Great value for the money!
Color: White & Cherry Natural
Got this on sale. Was fairy easy to assemble. The screws and Allen wrenches are included for assembly. The top is quite solid. Better quality than expected. A nice addition to our kitchen.

  • Good price/quality ratio. But be aware of what you are buying.
Color: Natural&white
I bought three of these in Natural/White: two of the 40 inch ones and one of the 22.75 inch ones. One of the larger ones and the smaller one are being used against a kitchen wall for extra storage; the additional larger one is being used as a center island. This is a 1950's kitchen that gets limited natural light and has soft-glow bulbs to round out the aesthetic (I mention that because it will be important later on). Overall price was just a bit North of $300. These were replacing hand-me-downs that I had held on to for far too long. The product(s) arrived well-packaged. Unpacking them was easy. All of the parts were in the box (including a few extra screws and plugs), as were the instructions. Said instructions were easy to decipher. While you need to supply a screw driver for some of the assembly, a trusty hex key/wrench is also supplied and needed for the bulk of the process. Overall assembly time for each product was approx. 40 minutes, with some breaks and what have you. What do I like? These have a nice, clean, design. They are made of solid wood (but more on that later). The top, which isn't a butcher block and shouldn't be used as a cutting board, is hefty enough. Once assembled, they don't have that wobble that a lot of other, particle board type of cheapo stuff, has. The drawers slide easily (but more on that later). Once placed where they needed to be, they gave off the look of far better kitchen furniture (esp. at a distance). Fine by me. What don't I like? Solid wood doesn't mean quality. So pay attention to the weight restrictions listed on the description, esp. as regards the lower two shelves. Because they are slat-style, there is a chance that placing too much weight on either shelf will lead to cracks/breaks. It probably would have been better if those shelves had a middle/cross-bracketing piece underneath them, given the brittle/thin slats. How do I know this? I placed an eight-bottle wine rack on the lowest shelf. In so doing and adjusting, I heard the faintest creak. When I checked, there was no clear break in the middle slat (at least viewing it from the top). But it did have more 'give' to it. That was fixed by placing a small block of spare wood underneath it as a brace (and, thankfully, it can't be seen). It is also the case that other parts also have very brittle wood, particularly the pieces that make up the drawers. So be careful screwing in the bolts, as even a slight mis-alignment can lead to some splitting. There is also a curious design flaw relating to the drawers. On the right hand side of the islands, there is no upper-screw used to secure the front panel to the side panels. As a result, once assembled, the drawers (on all three pieces) tend to shift to the left side of the island, creating a visible gap on the right side when you look at it straight-on. You can wiggle them to make them sit more flush. But opening and closing the drawers once again makes that gap on the right side apparent . . . until you wiggle it again. Not a deal-breaker (nor is the fact that, as others have noted, these are not high-quality drawers meant for heavy objects). But it is obvious if you are looking for it. Speaking of which, the white paint is not uniform. There are blemishes and rough spots. Again, if you are looking for those sorts of things, you will see them. A lot of them? No. But QC on this aspect of the production is clearly lacking. Thankfully, my kitchen doesn't have bright lights to spotlight those sorts of defects. Overall, I think most of the other reviews are fair. I would say, though, that some are not accurate or, perhaps, typical. The legs don't wobble. At least not on mine (and I realize that, given the QC issues noted above, that may vary). You complained about the height? How is that the seller's fault? The height is listed . . . and accurate. You clearly bought the wrong item and then complained about it here? Hmm. That's on you. You expected an heirloom quality product at this price? You were only kidding yourself. So don't take it out on the seller. Damage to the top, the legs, or any other part of it? You realize the seller doesn't send these to you in a custom built trailer that his parents drive to your door? I have to assume that most cases of damage occur in transit. So, whose fault? Amazon drivers (or those paid to deliver Amazon products). So you need to speak to Amazon about that and, hopefully, get replacement parts or a refund. But I can understand frustration if you are sent a product that was returned and then sent out again, or if you find pieces missing. This is a frustrating thing (has happened to me too). So, sigh, you again have to deal with customer service. But, from my experience, both sellers and Amazon are willing to help you resolve the issue . . . if you address it in a respectful manner. All in all, you get that for which you paid. In this instance, I feel good about the purchase. Just don't go in thinking "Wow, I got a deal" only to grumble about it later. I think most people will be okay with this product so long as they keep the price/quality ratio in mind. ... show more

  • Better than I expected
Color: Walnut&black
Not heirloom quality furniture but a lot better than I expected. I looked at tons of different prep tables and kitchen islands before I purchased this. I've always been a big believer in "you get what you pay for", so the low price of this product made me a little wary, but I'm pleasantly surprised how sturdy and stable it is. I'm a pretty experienced mechanic, ambidextrous and I put it together myself in about 30 minutes. If you're not like me, you may want to consider having a helper to assemble it. It delivers the storage space I needed and it's eye appealing. Good protective packaging. Don't be afraid of the low price. I recommend this product. ... show more

  • A Forever Piece of Furniture!
Color: Natural&white
I bought 2 of these to add storage to my kitchen and act as an island placed back to back to form a square. I'll see if I can post a picture later, but this worked perfectly for my needs! My kitchen has no pantry and I wanted a place to keep canned goods and other pantry staples. I had no issues putting these together by myself and they are sturdy, solid wood pieces that I know I'll have in this home and the next. I chose to add 2 large bins white woven bins and a skinny one in between on each shelf since I wanted the ease of open storage but also didn't want to look at everything. The drawer is shallow so not a lot will fit in them. In one, I have coffee pods and tea. In the other one I bought, I have my spices laying flat. I looked for a long time before buying these as I wanted something made of real wood for longevity and also aesthetically what I prefer and this fit the bill! I've had these over a year now and they still look brand new with no wobbliness or any hint that I didn't just put them together! ... show more

  • Sturdy enough and easy to put together; great value.
Color: Natural&white
This was pretty painless to put together, no in-partner fighting 😂 It's actual wood and not MDF or particle board! Seems stable and sturdy for a coffee station but I wouldn't slide it around a bunch or sit on it. Took longer to figure out where to put it than to put it together.
