Not many can compete with the experience and research into what these manufacturers do. Sure, I can get a $ 40 change at a jiffy lube. They might be faster and cheaper than me doing it myself. But, I know I’ll have much of the old oil in my engine after since they didn’t let it sit and drain long enough because of such a quick “change” they advertise. And who knows what they are pumping into your crankcase.
