This item is complete garbage, once you past the download this, install that, stand in one leg and say the pledge of allegiance while quacking like a duck, you realize you've been had. I'm not saying it won't work for everyone, but at least Honda owners need to look elsewhere.

This is the third one I’ve purchased and will keep coming back. Common problems, not necessarily related to this product: 1. Need high quality USB cable, some Amazon cables don’t have great data transfer rates. 2. Ground the USB cable from back of radio, Android radios have bad USB grounds and audio may have slight feedback from coil packs. 3. Get a 12V USB power injector. Android radios typically put out 1A, this device consumes some power. Sometimes iPhones won’t charge under 1A. 4. Download the .APK on a flash drive. Server location for download is in China, android radios see slow download speeds and can prematurely stop the download. PCs don’t have this issue. ... show more

The good: Firstly, let me say that the product (for the most part works very well. There are some issues connecting at times and when making calls the person at the other end hears an echo. One must keep in mind what one just paid for. I had to send one of the units back because there was a problem with the (3 inch) USB cord. The second unit has had no issues. The bad: I purchased a CarlinKit for CarPlay purposes on my tablet. There were a few settings that I had questions about (Decoding Method, for example). I contacted tech support and rather than having my questions answered I was told that they could not answer the questions because I did not purchase the product from their store. They asked me to get support from the place I purchased it from (Amazon). Now that is technical support for you. I equate that to purchasing a Samsung table from Best Buy, contacting Samsung concerning technical questions and having Samsung tell me to call Best Buy. Of course, that would not happen with someone reputable like Samsung (or LG, or Apple, etc.). The bottom line: It works well but you get what you pay for. And, expect zero tech support. ... show more

Seemed to work well at first when I only used CarPlay but soon found out when I went back and tried to use my radio app it kept crashing and you couldn’t play the radio in the background while using CarPlay. The solution was to download 2019 software I found on another website. Once I did that the radio would stay up and could be played in the background while using Google maps on CarPlay ... show more

I read the mixed reviews hoping it would work, and it didn't live up to the description. Getting the apk to download and work took some time. When I finally got it to work on the radio, the dongle itself is finicky. It'll keep disconnecting on its own from my phone, and when it was connected, it would not play music. I went through all the settings, and could not get the music to play. I would got play, and it would immediately pause it. Can't play the music through BT when connected with the dongle, so what's the point. Some may have luck with it, but I'd avoid this dongle as most said. ... show more

Sadly my return window ended yesterday it was late to return it.! at the begining was all good, now it works for few minutes and then everything desapears and I get a message to "please connect the device" and wonk connect againg until I totally turn off the car and wait to start the car again.... after reestarting... works for a while and then again the same message to connect the device... ... show more

you have to have a phone hot spot to install the software from the malware-infested site the link takes you to. takes a while to switch over to carplay mode and often says failed to connect.
