  • Nice quality CNC Router Bit
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
The media could not be loaded. This is not the only Sharpro bit that I own, I like this brand as they have a good price, are well-made and strong, and they cut really well. This latest acquisition is a 1/4" shank, 1/4" cutting diameter ball nose bit. Smaller diameter ball nose bits are great for fine detail on finish passes of reliefs and 3D carving, but larger diameter bits like this 1/4" one are excellent for sign making, finish passes on larger items that don't require fine detail but do need a smooth finish, as well as other cuts that need smooth inside edges, like tray or inside box bottoms, for example. In the brief video I attached to this review (mostly time-lapsed so it isn't too long) I am using the bit to cut a small shallow tray out of a small block of wood. One thing I learned with this simple test is that next time I will definitely need to specify a smaller stepover amount, as the one I used here has prominent lines due to the radius on the bit's cutters. But the takeaway here is that the bit cut really well and smoothly, and the rounded bottom edges are really nice, which would make removing small items from a tray easy, as they wouldn't catch on the sides if they were straight cuts. I mostly use carbide cutting bits, as their cutting edges keep their sharpness much longer than "regular" steel, and this bit is 100% carbide. The Sharpro brand is a great example of tools that are a very nice quality yet don't cost an arm and a leg! ... show more

  • Nice sharp bit for oak panels
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
I needed one of these bits for a bunch of oak cabinet panels I am making so I picked this one up and it is working so great. I have bought quite a few bits from this brand and have had such great luck with them that they are now my goto brand for my CNC bits. It is a sharp bit and durable as well, with dozens of hours on it and still cutting nicely. The end product is so nice that it needed very little sanding after I carved the panels, which is so nice. ... show more

  • Great bit
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
I am very happy with this bit. I bought this bit for general use in my home built CNC machine and it works great. It performs better on harder materials. On pine it does leave some fuzzies behind but it cuts real clean in walnut and other harder woods I've tried. It even does a good job in aluminum, just make sure you keep it lubricated with WD-40 or some other lubricant. This is becoming a new favorite brand and I'd definitely recommend these bits to friends. ... show more

  • Great bit for denser woods
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
Worked good for all woods but better for denser woods. Softer woods required cleanup as others mentioned but that isn't unexpected. Comparable to other bits I have used and I would have no problems recommending it.

  • Works like a charm
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
I don't use ball nose bits too often so I resisted getting one. But I recently added a rotary to my CNC to make table legs. I do the rough cutting with a flat end mill and then used this bit to make the final pass. The result was a leg that needed almost no sanding. The bit is plenty sharp and easily cut through the red oak test piece. I've included a picture of the leg. It's a 3 1/2" square oak leg made from a used ballister (you can see the finger joint in the wood). The only sanding I did was in the groove (where this bit couldn't reach). I did give it a quick spray of clear lacquer to give you an idea what the bit can do. ... show more

  • Sharp and nicely packaged
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
This end mill came packaged in a nicer plastic case, and then also had some rubber hosing over the mill itself for added protection. The only annoying thing about the packaging is that they couldn't bother to describe the bit in all of the writing on there. I had to add my own label to the case. This end mill performed great in some hard maple I had. I just did some test cuts, but I didn't get the whiskers and wispy pieces that you normally have to sand off. Now, in softer pine, this didn't do quite as well and I did get the whiskers that needed to be sanded down. Value wise, I think you could probably find a better value. ... show more

  • Good bit
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 Dia Number of Items: 1
I have around 19 hours cutting on this bit with no real issues. Some of the softer woods I use did need a bit of cleanup, but overall very happy with this bit
