I loved this charger....bought it for my 2004 Honda 750 shadow Ace. Used the Refresh battery at first, when it said it was ready then put it over on the trickle charger. the tender/trickle charger continued to charge until it was fully charged and it shut itself off, next morning it was back on.

I had a pretty dead 12v battery that I needed to bring back to life. When I connected this, it thought the battery was a 6V motorcycle battery. However, in the instructions, they tell you to hold one of the buttons for 10 seconds, and that tells the charger it is actually a really dead 12v battery, and to charge it as such. I'm not sure if my battery was simply 'too dead' but I went back out to check on the charger after about half a day and it was not on. I pressed the buttons and got it going again, but it was a little concerning that it turned itself off. Not the end of the world, but I took off a star for it. 4 stars, thanks! ... show more

When I unboxed this product, I thought, “This little thing can’t possibly work to recharge my car battery.” It’s a very small control unit with seemingly light-duty cables and clips. Hooked it up as directed and - wow - did it ever work great! My nearly dead car battery charged overnight to nearly new performance levels. Intelligent recharging. Highly recommended! ... show more

Started off by testing this Zipelo 6V 12V Lead Acid Battery Charger with a small 12 volt 7Ahr battery that was completely fine, just needed a charge. Using a volt meter and amp meter in-line with this charger, the best I seen was 1.5 amps with the standard charge mode; all while the charger itself was showing 1.78-1.80 amps. The trickel charge mode was 750mA or half of the standard charge rate. I trust my meters more than the accuracy of whatever is in the charger. The voltage read out on the charger was around a tenth of a volt more than my meter showed on the battery but that's OK due to voltage loss in the wire, but the amps should be constant for the most part. The pulse repair mode is exactly what is says, a pulse of power. The pulse is full amperage of 1.5a for about a second on, and a second off. The charger seems decent for $20 and has several features that can be handly. ... show more

    • It really works - it is restoring sulfated lead acid batteries.
I spent quite a bit of time testing this and it really works. I took an old battery that would not hold over 11 volts and now it is testing good on the battery tester. I started out with the repair mode and then hit it again with the full charge mode. Then hit it with the battery tester which simulates a car starter motor. The battery was in the low range. I repeated the cycle same as above over a period of days and now the battery is testing nearly like new. I am surprised because most so called battery desulfators do not work. This will repair a partly sulfated battery but I would not expect too much from a badly sulfated battery. Maybe after months of cycling it through... The advantage of this over most battery desulfators is that it has its own power supply instead of drawing off the battery itself. This means you can restore batteries those other versions cannot. ... show more

    • Batteries are expensive - this is cheap maintenance!
This little device is the modern iteration of what us old-timers used to call "battery tenders" or "battery maintainers" or even "battery savers" - but with a twist. This one has a nice and informative digital display and has 3 "modes" - a slow charge, a trickle charge, and a "repair" mode that is some sort of a "pulse" or "desulphation" mode. Nice. My old "battery tender" had one mode - a trickle charge moe - and you could push a button to get ti to do a "desulphation" - but no handy digital display of progress like this unit gives. Given the current price of aviation gasoline our airplane sits more than it fly's and the battery needs some very careful maintenance to keep it healthy during the downtime. This little maintainer will be a semi-permanent fixture in our aircraft to keep our expensive aircraft battery healthy! ... show more
