  • Best dry cleaning rug cleaner
Style: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
I bought this product as recommended by the manufacturer of my rug. It’s part wool and part jute. It’s beautiful but 3 days into having it, one of my dogs threw up in it. You can’t use water. This product worked, and has continued to work to clean up dog messes that I’ve been worried that wouldn’t come up, but have! ... show more

  • It works!
Style: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
This is the best carpet cleaner I have ever used. It has made every spell every throw up and every track pattern disappear. I’m amazed how good it works. Use to be able to find at Lowe’s but haven’t been able to lately so I order online.

  • I can see a difference
Style: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
I first used this product two years ago to clean my carpeted areas. I think it helps remove dirt and dust from the carpet. It is easy to use by sprinkling and gently spreading with a brush. Let it sit and then vacuum. Two years ago I had to clean because my cat was at the end of her life and she defecated everywhere. After cleaning with water and a brush I used Capture. It worked perfectly. I decided to use again because I think it helps draw up dust from the carpet. I can see a difference between just vacumning and vacumning after using Capture. ... show more

  • Major improvement
Style: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
We moved into an old 1946 cabin that for some reason they put carpet on the concrete basement floor. We didn’t get to move in for a year and the carpeted floor was musty and smelly and I thought the carpet was going to have to go. (And it still may go. Who wants carpet in an old cinder block basement with a concrete floor anyway right?) But until then, I tried the capture, which I’ve used in the past and always been happy with. That horrible smell is finally gone. I see that people have been guessing about what the product has in it and I’ve heard things from little eraser particles To vinegar and borax, but the website says it is limestone and zinc. Just pull the MSDS form. So I put it down yesterday, and today I vacuumed and that horrible smell lifted. I will likely do it a second time in a few weeks just because this floor was that bad, but I don’t have to. I am just an over achiever lol. This product has never let me down. When I had puppies and they peed on the carpet, this stuff took that away. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Cleans a carpet. Even heavy traffic areas. Get the pre-treat spray also.
I don't know why this stuff works but it does. And it won't wet the floors underneath the carpet like other processes. Even on dark greasy traffic patterns on our sable colored carpeting, this stuff works. Sometimes you've got to do it more than once on a trouble spot. Sometimes maybe even 3 or 4 times if I've neglected to clean a high-traffic area for about a year or so. You can improve the odds for success if you also use the pre-treatment spray as directed. We've been using it about 15 years or so. I first started using this stuff with a Sears machine that was designed specifically for this product. That Sears machine will apply, brush, and vacuum the product. The Sears machine is not available any more. Don't worry. You didn't miss much. The brush action of that machine is weak because the bristles are too short and the brush roller only operates in one direction. You don't need the machine anyway. (Hint: If you do large areas, you can use one of those dual counter-rotating rotary brush carpet cleaner machines like have been around for about 50 years. The softest brushes for those machines are called "carpet brushes" and are made of soft plastic (usually white) and usually come provided with the machine. I use that to work the powder in if I'm doing one or more full rooms. Works great. Though, you still have to use a manual brush to do the 2 or 4 inches next to walls, baseboards, columns, and such. I've got a soft brush on a broom-type handle so I don't need to get down to the floor. Then, any good vacuum cleaner with good suction and a motorized beater bar/brush roller will vacuum it away nicely. For the vacuum, I use a $50 Bissell upright that uses disposable bags. Those disposable bags are huge, cost about 80¢ each when I buy them in a 12 pack at the Bissell web site, and quickly take care of the "microparticle" problem that might quickly clog permanent/washable types of filters. One or two bags will easily do a 20 x 30 room without clogging. I just throw them away. No filters to wash.) This stuff still works as good as ever now that I'm about halfway into the second decade of using it. I'm not sure how it compares to other machine processes. But, one good thing, you probably don't need to buy anything else except a brush to try this stuff. You can use a soft brush from any hardware store to apply it. The Capture branded brushes are okay but you have to buy a "kit" to get them and then you've got to go to the hardware store to get a broom-type handle because the handle is not provided. Be sure to get one that is soft enough to work in the powder but gentle enough that it doesn't drag off lots of lint and fiber from your carpet. It would seem that the more vigorous the brush the better, but, nope. You don't want to give your carpet fibers split ends. Your goal is to get the microparticles to surround the fibers so that some sort of capillary or osmotic action takes place and after the liquid in the particles wet and dissolve the dirt, the particles will then "suck" the dissolved grime into the microparticles. Once dried, the particles have trapped the soil and you vacuum it away. Now, they tell you that you can vacuum it in 30 minutes. I've never been able to do that. I always expect at least 4 hours for the carpet to be totally dry. Nice thing is you can leave it on there for hours or days. It won't hurt. Just vacuum it when you can. But, I do think you'll get the best cleaning action if you wait until the carpet is absolutely and thoroughly dry to the touch. ... show more

  • The Product Leaves a Fine Dust
Style: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
The reasons for my giving this product a 3 star rating. Pro's 1) It does a very nice job in cleaning your carpet that is fact. 2) It does leave a subtle scent after applying and vacuuming per the directions. 3) when using the liquid Spot remover the combination does indeed lift out ground in dirt and spots Con's 1) It leaves a fine dust in the carpet, even after vacuuming the product per the directions I know this for a fact due to the fact I used my Bissell Pro Heat Steam Cleaner directly after vacuuming the product up, and when powering up my Bissell I immediately saw dust flying up off the carpet that had been treated with the product. Thus if you have allergies or sinus issues I would hesitate to use this product. 2) After vacuuming the product up my vacuum motor was effected by the fine dust particles and was much louder. I took the vacuum apart and cleaned it the best I could to save the vacuum. Hence prepare to repair or replace your vacuum after use of this product. I used a bagless Bissell Power Force Vacuum about 4 years old with very limited use. 3) When using my Bissell Pro Heat Steamer the product left a pasty residue in the Extraction side of my tank. Thus the Bissell Power Heat did in fact clean up the majority of the dust left behind embedded in the carpet. Overall the product does what it is advertised to do, however the product definitely has some down sides to it. I would not use this product based on the Con's listed above. If you do not have allergies or sinus problems, and don't mind spending some time cleaning your vacuum after using the product I would recommend the product. It does certainly clean your carpet. However I also know Steam or a Wet style Carpet cleaner does the same job with the only drawback being drying time. ... show more
