This is either a Canon factory lens cap or an absolutely perfect copy. I damaged my original E-77 II and cannot tell the difference.

  • Easier to Remove!
Style: E-77 II
Yes, it is easier to remove...and put back on. It is a good value for the money because it does what I need and does it easier than my other style Canon OEM lens caps. As far a durability they are all made of almost all plastic, so it will probably be no better or worse than any other Canon brand lens cap. Just very glad I was able to find a new one available for purchase and I now have it on my camera lens. ... show more

I lost my lens cap while on vacation and this replacement cap was a perfect fit. And the price was a good value.

I purchased three of these expecting a nice product to cover the front of my lenses during transport, but these blew my expectations away! Upon swapping them out with my original caps, I noticed they had several other effects. I went out to take some test shots. Upon reaching my destination, I placed the lens cap in my front pocket, as is my habit. I was immediately filled with a self-confidence I had never felt before. I just KNEW I was going to capture some amazing images. I was a blur, running about at a blazing 10fps…in and out of traffic, chasing dogs and squirrels, making children laugh and parents smile. I replaced my wondrous lens cap, and hurried home to my PC. I could tell that my download speeds were much quicker, with several hundred RAW images transferring in mere seconds. I couldn’t believe my eyes…100% keeper rate. Every image was perfectly exposed and composed. At one point, I had just spun in place with my eyes shut, holding my camera out with the shutter button mashed down. These were the most incredible shots of all…a butterfly emerging from its’ cocoon at 1:1, a UFO hovering over the treeline, Elvis eating a corndog, and a full front and profile shot of Bigfoot. Selling these pictures to the tabloids will pay for my equipment for the rest of my life. I am going to purchase many more of these caps…who knows where it could lead…perhaps a Pulitzer? The bottom line: Will these help you take better pictures: NO Are they a quality product: YES Are they worth $13 and change: YOU decide. Despite my initial worries, these are a quality OEM product. If you own many thousands of dollars in nice equipment, what’s a few bucks for a nice lens cap? On the other hand, money is money. For me, it makes it easier to use when I have a lens hood in place, which is pretty much always. ‘Nuff said. ... show more

  • Faster and Easier
Style: E-72 II
I really didn't pay much attention to lens caps until I jumped into DSLR video. I know many pro shooters are not fond of lens caps, preferring speed of run and shoot but still, I like to keep thousands of dollars of lens protected when not in use. And its a good thing I did, because a few months ago after a long trip, late-night return, I grabbed my camera bag ( Tamrac 5788 Evolution 8 Photo/Laptop Sling Backpack Bag (Black) ) and tossed it to my shoulder anxious to get in the door. For the first time in my life, one of my lens, my favorite (135mm) went crashing to the ground in the dark because a side pouch was not secured. #%@#%(#*@#%! At first glance, all looked okay. Upon further review inside and in the morning, the lens cap took a direct hit and broke. Not a single mark on the lens - pure luck of the fall. Which led me to this quick, center pinch replacement. Totally converted now and have replaced all my caps to center-pinch Canon caps. For one, with the video, I shoot with a teleprompter glass/hood. Reaching into the hood to grab the old caps (sometimes it sits here for days, so I cap them) - a pain to find and release. Pinch-caps, no problem. Also, shooting with lens hoods (stills/videos) and now a large matte box (videos) is it SO much easier to reach into the center and pinch/pull. All other things being equal, I have to say - I think these center-pinch caps even look better, they look more rugged (although probably not) and they look more serious. Whatever your reason or your need, you won't be disappointed in these genuine Canon caps. ... show more

Ever take a good picture so good you just lost your way with words. Same here. Was stunned by such beauty that I, like many others, lost the cap to the eyes of the world. This item fits more snug than the original cap that came with my camera. Unbeknownst of the beauties of the world, a cap is needed to venture the capture of environment, people, and animals alike. Product works as intended. ... show more
