Never buy "compatible" cartridges IMHO. Too much risk. And, yes Canon charges an arm and a leg for toner, but I don't want to end up like many reviews on this site and trash a good printer. High capacity will get you 3 times the print pages for only 50% more $ per cartridge. It is basically the only deal Canon offers. I buy during Black Friday or Cyber Monday for the full year's worth of use. I haven't had any toner cartridge from Canon ever fail after installing.... good thing because I install well after the return period here at Amazon. So far so good for my Canon MF743 dfw. Ditch the Inkjet and Go Laser! ... show more

I purchased non-Canon toner in early 2021 which worked great until this summer. Then "insert toner cartridge" and "an error occurred during data communication" errors occurred. I read that buying one actually cannon toner might fix this and the price difference between the normal vs high capacity made more sense to get the high capacity if I am stuck with the expensive stuff. Well it did not fix the issue. In the end I was able to warranty replacement the non-Canon toner which was half the price of this black toner only for all 4 high-capacity toner. ... show more

We have a Canon mf743cdw printer for a small business. We tend to go through a lot of toner. I’ve tried to use off brand toners and the quality is sub par. Although expensive we reverted back to this brand. The printer is now making clear copies and printing crisper. Highly suggest to stick with this product esp. if you run a small business the H for higher yield of printing is worth the extra money. ... show more
