Follow up after almost 3 years...... still working perfect . No maintenance needed. Application: I have a work shop. I use this unit for hand and dish washing. It is hooked up to a wash tub and bathroom sink. It has plenty of capacity to perform these functions. I am still very happy with this heater I have had for about 8 months. I replaces another unit (different brand) that only lasted about 12 months. So far so good. It was easy to install. Plumbing is all about getting right fittings so some persistence is always needed The other unit failed (again different brand) as water got inside the controls when I cleaned my shop sink. The water got in where the pipes existed the casing. This brand has superior seals in this area. It delivers near instant hot water. re-warms quickly It is a bit bulky but I purposely bought the larger unit for the tank size Totally happy after 8 nonths ... show more

Installation was smooth. Difficult in that the space in which I had to work was very shallenging, but not the heater's fault. Works great, heats up fast, love that it's all analog control. I do wish they would have provided a way to drain it. I ended up blowing it out with air pressure which was not very easy. Next winter I think I'll try a bicycle pump or similar. ... show more

We found out we had a leaking pipe under the kitchen floor. We decided that we weren't breaking any concrete and canceling the pipe was our best option. That left us with hot water only in half of the house but our washer and kitchen sink needed a source of hot water so we decided to install this water heater and it has been the most convenient and easy fix to our problem. It took me about an hour to hook it up and hang it from the wall. It comes with the bracket for such purpose and I went to the hardware store for the copper hook ups and hoses and connectors. It literally takes it 5 minutes to heat up all 4 gallons in the tank and so far we haven't run out of hot water. We have it set at 125 degrees (F) and we can go a little higher if we need to but we don't go above this temperature as for the sink and washer it's all we need. I haven't noticed any difference from this to our old gas water heater and in a week of usage we haven't run out of hot water yet. I'll update my review after I test it with both the sink and washer machine running at the same time for a more extended period of time and also when my electric bill comes in to see the cost of having an additional water heater in the house. ... show more

To be sure we get instant hot water, I put a mini-tank under every sink in the house about 8 or 9 years ago. We love them and would never do without them again. Best and most cost effective way to get really instant hot water for hand washing, dishes, laundry sink. Only problem is they only last about 6 years or so, so you have to replace them. After about 6 years they begin to leak very slowly underneath. I installed mine sitting in cheap plastic storage tubs under each sink. Use a $10 water alarm in the tub to get early warning of a leak. You have to buy a size and brand that has shape and dimensions to fit under your sink and drain pipes, so plan carefully. I have several different brands and they all leak eventually. But for 6 years you get wonderful warm or hot water to wash your hands in without waiting forever. I've had this exact heater before (except a different brand name) and it has worked very well. Each heater only adds a dollar or two per month to your electric bill. ... show more

This water heater is the best! finally we don't have to wait 10-15 minutes for hot water, we used to have recirculating hot water pump, but since our water heater was replaced with tankless water heater, had to buy this water heater to save water, and it does, and works great.

First of all, the packaging was inadequate so it was damaged in shipping. Also noticed the warranty printed on the box was significantly less than the online statement, so I did not reorder. After much more research, I also noticed many of these smaller units do not have a flush valve on the bottom so you would have to uninstall it and turn it upside down to flush it. I am still looking for the right solution for my needs. For the price, this may still be a functional solution for someone, but not for me. ... show more
