So while I am kinda smart, it didn't dawn on me until it was time to eat that metal conducts heat well. 🤣 this set is amazing it's easy to clean, stores so small and once you figure out not to hold it from the bottom you're good. Now not sure how convenient that is for camping as unless your in an area with tables, you have to hold your plates. The bright side to this design is all pieces have raised edges so you can hold there. Durable, easy to clean. I'd buy them again better than hauling a bunch of other dishes to a campsite. ... show more

We purchased these for our camping gear and after reading the reviews prior we thought this would be a great easy, compact set to have. We used the set all weekend on our camping trip. Easy to clean, keeps things hot when you cover a plate with another plate if you are prepping dinner in stages while camping. I love the case and easy stacking of the plates and bowls. I will say I wish the bigger plates were more like a plate and not as rounded as a bowl, but it worked out just fine and we will be keeping it for easy travel and camping needs! ... show more

This set has changed at some point. If you look at the older reviews with pictures, this set used to be matte finished and stamped with 304 in the center of the plates. Now it’s high shine and no stamp, makes me wonder if they switched to 201. I bought this set based off of the good reviews, but now I’ve noticed a few newer reviews with the newer style and a bad review saying black stuff came off of the plates when wiped with a wet wipe. I washed one with dish soap, and sure enough my white sponge was solid grey. I was able to get that to stop coming off, and it was mostly from the backsides. I was debating whether to return or not, because once you have cleaned every piece by hand the first time, I think it would work as a decent lightweight set for camping. I did read that even good kitchen pots and pans come with a factory coating that is residue from the polishing of the stainless steel, is microscopic steel particles with the oil they use to shine it up and that you should use baking soda and water to clean the first time. I’m just very irritated they switched the product so this cheaper version still shows the good reviews for this listing of the old product. Although they did update the pictures at some point, as this listing does show what I got, I still think it’s shady. I think they need to list what kind of stainless steel it is. The silverware looks to be a better quality. I may keep it after I clean the heck out of it the first time. The top sides are nice and shiny. I gave 3 stars for the inconvenience and the switch to a lower quality, but it’s still a decent price for what you get. I’ll probably still use it, but I wanted others to be aware. ... show more

Nice small package and reasonably decent quality for the money. Individually not really geared towards big eaters as they aren't really large, but for a multicourse meal not too bad for a chow hound like myself.
