This has several ways to operate and solar is just one. This is great if your home has frequent power outages during storms or for a camping trip. Lightweight and gives off a lot of light. I have one but am considering purchasing another.

    • Awesome Lantern! With ALMOST the Slowest Possible Charging...

So they say a full charge can give you about 8-12 hours of run time. And now I see why the listing doesn't say how long it takes to charge this thing. Now, the slowest I've ever seen something charge is 5V/0.5a, which is 2.5 watts. And to give everyone an idea of what's possible, over a year ago I got a power bank with a 26,800mAh battery that can be charged in under 2 hours at 100 watts, that's only slightly bigger than the base of this lantern. Anyway, this lantern has a 6000mAh battery. And I finally found in the instructions that this lantern can charge other devices using the USB-A port at 5V/1a, which is 5 watts. Then, using the USB-C port to charge the lantern itself, it can be charged at a maximum rate of 5V/1a also, which of course would be 5 watts. According to the instructions it will take about 6 hours to charge it this way. What's sadder than that, and also quite funny, is that the instructions also say that it can be charged in about 5 hours by the hand crank as long as a speed of 2 turns per SECOND is maintained. 😄😂🤣 Still though, it's pretty sad that it's technically possible to charge this lantern quicker with it's hand crank than it is using the regular method. I've used a lot of devices like this and the absolute slowest any of them have charged is at 5V/2a, which is 10 watts. As for the solar charging, the charging time for it must be really really bad because the instructions don't say at all how long it would take to charge using solar. Well, I know that the solar charging and the hand crank charging are meant for emergencies for the most part, which the instructions confirm by saying that they recommend using the USB-C port as the main charging method. And a 6000mAh battery IS a nice size battery for a lantern like this. It's just that there's plenty of other lantern's out there that put this one to shame, and that also say in their listings how long it takes to charge them. ... show more

Looks great, love the multiple charging options. I can't speak to how long the charge lasts but it is BRIGHT! Great thing to keep handy in case of a power outage.
