these saved us on our camping trip in 20 degree weather, they kept us warm in the back of our truck while it was snowing/raining. We didn’t need any type of other heating device. We used these under a bed sheet and a sleeping bag on top. Highly recommend!

  • Perfect to cut the chill on a cold night camping!
Model: No Battery
Bought to use on a camping trip in late October. Draws very little power, my Jackery says about 10w to 15w, and has the sleeping bag toasty! Came with a bag to machine wash if needed, but I'll probably just hand wash off needed. Have 4 stars since I'm unsure of the durability yet. But, so far it's very impressive! ... show more

  • Nice, cozy upgrade for those cold camping excursions or nights around the fire.

Subjectively, there is just no question this thing works and works well, particularly if you can get close contact with your body. When you lie under it, or drape it over your legs, it functions very much like a traditional (plug-in) heated blanket, a little smaller and less powerful perhaps but with way more portability and convenience, and a much higher safety factor. Objectively, you should probably keep your expectations modest. Below freezing, you will definitely still need a good sleeping bag to make the best use of it. I tested it using a 300w portable power station with an LED readout of wattage used, a digital cooking thermometer, and a 15 degree North Face mummy sack sleeping bag (fully zipped, but with no one inside). The heating pad was placed inside the sleeping bag, and the temperature probe was initially laid on top but between the coils to register a more average temp. Later I folded the blanket over the thermometer. Here's what I found: According to the LED readout on my power station, it will pull whatever wattage you give it. Using the traditional 5V/2.4 amp jack, it pulled 15w. Using a USB-A to USB-C adapter and the 18w USB-C jack, it pulled the expected 18w. Oddly enough, this was true regardless on what setting it was on. On the middle (blue) setting it still pulled 17w. On the low (green) stetting, it *still* pulled 17-18w of power, but it would *very* briefly (for like a second or two) cycle down to 6-7w every 20-25 seconds. This lowest setting ultimately did achieve an objectively lower overall temperature, but very little power was saved, so if you need the warmth you might as well have it set on high. I have no idea what they did to measure the advertised temperatures, but in my experience they are not achievable in the real world. Very few USB-A slots (the design of the plug on the blanket) deliver a full 3 amps. Using the 2.4a jacks and 15w, it took about 15 min. to raise the temperature inside the sleeping bag 15 degrees above ambient (in this case from 41 to 56). It leveled out after that and went up another few degrees over the next 30 min. So I'm thinking 15-20 degrees above ambient is about what you can expect when used beneath you. Out of curiosity, I then folded over the blanket onto the thermometer and the temperature jumped another 8 degrees within 15 minutes. I'm not sure if that was a result of the "doubled" and more insulated heating or the probe touched one of the heating coils. Keep in mind these are somewhat flawed attempts to arrive at objective measurements when the human factor is removed. Throw in a person and I'm certain the temps would be much higher. In other words, this works best in conjunction with body heat, so get it as close to you as possible. Also, use the highest capacity power bank you have. It will drain between 2400 and 3000ma per hour. All in all, a well made product. Other possible uses include a heated throw blanket for sporting events, sitting round the fire, or other outdoor gatherings. I may even keep it in my truck as an emergency blanket. ... show more

  • Soft and warm
Model: No Battery
The media could not be loaded. This will keep your sleeping bag nice and warm. You can power it several ways. The one button and three heat levels is easy to operate. Once you plug you hold the button down for a few seconds. Then the red light blinks. Push again and you are at low heat and the light turns blue. Push again and it’s medium heat with a green light. Push again for high heat and a red light. I’m going to use this in our camper van. It rolls up nice and fits in the included bag well. My husband is always cold and I don’t like our heater running all the time. Now he can get in his sleeping bag all plugged into one of our many battery packs. But after laying on this I have to admit it feels really cozy, maybe another order is in my future. ... show more
