The eye on my stove doesn’t sit level because of all the years canning. I started researching for a hot plate to use this year and let me say, I am VERY impressed with this one! All the reviews were good with the exception of it taking longer to get hot enough for pressure to get up. Well, it didn’t take any longer with this than on my stove— but I put hot water in canner to speed it up instead of cold. Only took 10 min to get hot enough to do second round.     • Nice addition to my kitchen
I bought this plate to use for pressure canning and have only used it once, but I think it will work well. It takes a little getting used to the temperature settings, but I think it will be OK. I am glad I bought it.

Been using for about 6 months and still working great. Using with cast iron pan and heats evenly and hot really well.

    • received item quickly but does not work
received the item quicker than stated however the burner does not work. It will not even power on. There is a rattling sound inside the unit which leads me to believe its broken. Will be returning. Disappointed as this was not a cheap item and I needed this item for canning.

Most of these tabletop hotplates don'l last long. Also this one is 1500 watts - that' more than most.

Too hot to handle and too cold to hold. I sat on the heater because my ass was cold. I heard a hiss and crackle and hit the roof! You think it's all funny but it's just a spoof!! Merry Christmas!!

This was a gift to someone, who uses a propane stove to cook on. He advised that it is ok but he preferred the propane stove, which was much faster. This hot plate took a long time to heat up to the right temperature to cook something.
