I brought a pack of these when I was adding cat5e networking to some homes we have, and even though they are not Panduit, which I wanted to use in the first place, these are way cheaper, look great, are pretty durable, and can be used like any other wall plate.     • Difficult to get keystones to fit

Overall these plates are fine for the price. I had quite bit of difficulty trying to get the keystones into the slots on the back which took much more time than I wanted per plate. I've installed thousands of these (we typically buy leviton locally) and never had this problem. It seems the square is just slightly too small for the jack to fit in properly. I ended up scratching several of these trying to get the keystones installed. Other than that these work just fine. The texture on the outside feels a little different. Kind of like a glossy enamel but looks as others plates do. Needless to say I will purchase these again as they're significantly less expensive than popular brands but only if my local distributor is out of stock again. ... show more

These have a 2.8" width. While that is adequate for most standard applications, the home I was replacing the plates in had Eaton plates. The Eaton plates I was replacing are about 1/4 of an inch wider. Naturally, when you put these covers over an opening that had a larger plate in it, it's not going to look as good. Not a slight to this product, which is very good, but something you may not think about until after the install. This product is very good. The plates are nicely made and the keystone holes are precise. Interestingly, I purchased keystone blanks from Cable Matters, and the plastic they use on the inserts does not exactly match the color of these plates. Close, but careful observation, and you can see the material/color difference. Again, not a big thing, just be aware to avoid disappointment. ... show more

The plates are serviceable but a little undersized. They often won't cover the opening left by a drywall guy with a cut out tool zipping around a job site. The main problem I have is with the screws. They're just awful. Truly garbage. I haven't had any break, but they're covered with paint that will flake off of you look at it funny. There's simply no way to use them without taking the paint off the Phillips slot at the very least. But the paint is so bad that most of the time I've found it somehow flakes off the outer edge of the screw too, even before it touches the plate. Not sure how that happens. And on top of all that, they didn't even bother to make this flaky paint match the same color of white as the plates. It just looks terrible. I'm considering just replacing them all with silver screws. Pretty disappointing. 4 stars for the plates. 1 star for the screws. But I guess 5 stars for the price? That somehow works out to three stars I guess... ... show more
