  • Instructions not included
Product is a 24V AC adapter as advertised, but there are no wiring diagrams provided. I confirmed that the adapter works but I spent over three hours trying to figure out how to use it to provide C-wire power to a Nest smart thermometer (the one with a 6 pin mirror finish). Ultimately, it was unsuccessful. I had to Google endless you tube videos and found some that a similar set up as mine, but I couldn't get it to work ... Please provide some common wiring diagrams. Also, one adapter wire is solid white and the other is white with a black stripe. Again, no instructions. Internet searches suggest they are "the same" but that seems counter intuitive. Overall, product works, but lack of instructions might turn your hair gray. ... show more

  • C-wire adapter
Works perfectly with my Amazon Thermostat!

  • Works for Honeywell Lyric T5+
I have a simple hot-water baseboard furnace, no AC and no fan, and no C-wire. The instructions for using the Honeywell-supplied C Wire Converter with a transformer were too complicated and the converter itself is kind of ugly. After much dubbing around, settled on the simple wiring shown in photo: - furnace thermostat wires to R and W, - 24 V AC adapter (no polarity) to C and Rc (slide down little cover to access Rc). Works fine. ... show more

  • Cheaper 24volt options available. This is overpriced
OK for what it is even if overpriced.

  • This will do the job
I bought this for a 2-wire hot water radiator system. This is used in conjunction with Google Nest (1st Gen) thermostat. The item is as-described...almost. Of course, this means no instructions, but that's OK. The internet is full of helpful instruction/videos on how to do this: one wire to W and second wire to RH (or RC) whichever slot is used for the Red wire. The problem with the installation is that the wires are stranded wires, and very fine. The result is that it is difficult to insert these in the appropriate hole. This especially true with the hole shared with the R wire. Does it work? It seems so for my 2-wire system. There were a couple of notifications early on that suggested that there was no power. I believe one was for the wires not all inserted fully. Since then, and for a week or so, everything seems to be fine. Sensor lights up display when approached, which to me indicates that it OK. Plenty of wire and hooks. I feel that this is a better alternative to the Google power source that is to be installed at the heating unit. ... show more

  • Fixed the thermostat issues.
It eliminated the connections issues with my Nest thermostat. Check youtube videos to see where the wires should connect to the thermostat.

  • Instructions vague, but Nest finally recognized it.
Instructions were vague and I had to go by another person's review to connect it correctly, but Nest finally recognized it after trying 2 or 3 times. No more battery issues for me, but I would prefer an actual C wire ran to my furnace, but that's only so I don't have to utilize a plug spot and have all that cord hanging there. Believe me, you get plenty of cord. ... show more
